Chapter 325: Roselle Continues Reading His Diary

Upon hearing Lynn's words, Roselle felt a wave of relief and a strange sense of emotion. It made him feel that Lynn wasn't as heartless as he had thought.

'What am I thinking? This mess is all because of his scheming,' Roselle grumbled inwardly. He scratched his head in frustration and wondered if he had unknowingly been influenced by Lynn, making him think this jerk wasn't so bad after all.

"I don't think that's a misconception, considering I'm genuinely a good person," Lynn suddenly spoke, his smile gentle and harmless, looking every bit like a good person.

Though fully aware of his own nature, this didn't stop Lynn from proudly declaring himself a good person at that moment.

"I am, after all, a lawful person. Why wouldn't I be a good person?" Lynn muttered, reaffirming his belief and brushing aside any lingering doubts.

"Pfft, you have the nerve to say that? Do you have any self-awareness?" Roselle couldn't help but scoff at Lynn, bewildered by how shameless he was.

"Well..." Lynn calmly looked at him and said with a smile, "If I weren't a good person, you wouldn't be here enjoying family time with your daughter. You'd still be in your tomb, battling Corruption."

"Or are you really that much eager to go back to your tomb and rot?" Lynn's smile grew brighter, clearly indicating that if Roselle said another word, he'd kick him back to his black emperor's tomb.

Roselle, who had been quite arrogant just moments ago, suddenly seemed to have forgotten everything. He looked at Lynn with determination and said, "Hahaha. My friend, Who said you're not a good person? You are a great person, no doubt!"

He had perfectly mastered the art of bootlicking.

As for whether he was secretly planning to get back at Lynn after overcoming the Corruption, that was anyone's guess.

"If you want to get back at me, get in line," Lynn glanced at him and smiled.

He was speaking the truth. Many people wanted to hit him, and Roselle wasn't even at the front of the line.

Roselle's expression stiffened. He couldn't help but mutter, "You must have mind-reading abilities..."

"Instead of thinking about whether I have mind-reading abilities, you should continue reading your diary. Bernadette is still waiting. Since you can't tell her the truth, you should make up for it in other ways," Lynn reminded him with a smile.

"I'm not in a hurry..." Bernadette, who had been observing the interaction between her father and the Angel of Secrets, whispered, her gaze becoming increasingly complex.

It wasn't surprising. Originally, both Roselle and Lynn were seen through filters in Bernadette's eyes. But now, those filters were almost shattered.

Fully aware of this, Lynn wasn't bothered. He nudged Roselle to continue reading the diary, clearly enjoying the drama.

Roselle gritted his teeth before turning back to Bernadette. Thanks to his earlier tactic and Lynn's interruption, Bernadette was no longer angry about the witch incident. Relieved, Roselle forced a smile and said:

"Although he loves stirring up trouble, he's right. Since I can't tell you the truth, I should make up for it in other ways."

"Father..." Bernadette called out, feeling a mix of emotions and increasing confusion.

What is her father's secret?

But reality didn't allow Bernadette to ponder further, as Roselle began reading the next diary entry:

"3rd November, Matilda is three months pregnant now. I even find those maidservants who come from the villages beautiful..."

This was obviously another diary entry Lynn had carefully selected, successfully raising Bernadette's blood pressure once again.

As a daughter, Bernadette found it hard to accept that her father was fooling around while her mother was pregnant.

Especially when she realized the diary might have been written during her mother's pregnancy with her.

Roselle felt a headache coming. He really didn't want to read this entry, but with a certain angel smiling at him, what else could he do but obediently read it?

Bernadette was evidently furious, speechless as she stared at Roselle.

"How could you do this while Mother was pregnant... You've disappointed me greatly, Father." After a long silence, Bernadette finally spoke through gritted teeth.

"I'm sorry, I was wrong..." Roselle apologized without hesitation, knowing he had crossed the line.

But there was no helping it. Before Bernadette was born, Roselle saw the world as a game, with no moral restraints, leading to countless absurd actions.

"An apology like this means nothing..." Lynn chimed in with a smile, showing no sympathy for Roselle and even fanning the flames, "Bernadette, you should teach him a lesson. Though it's wrong to hit your father, it's justified to avenge your mother. Don't let this scumbag get away with it."

"Hey! Lynn, can't you be a decent person...?" Roselle was genuinely furious.

Bernadette hesitated, glancing at Roselle. It was clear she was torn.

But her hesitation didn't last long. A few seconds later, Bernadette clenched her fist tightly.

She agreed with the Angel of Secrets. Maybe it was time to let her father know her stance through action, not just words.

"Bernadette, calm down..." Roselle swallowed nervously, backing away slowly.

As someone who could partially use Sequence 0 powers, Roselle could easily suppress Bernadette, who was only Sequence 3. But could he really do that?

If he did, it would mean the end of their father-daughter relationship.
