There was too much tension in the room, it was hard to ignore. 


' He's so nervous.' Julie thought while watching Max avoid eye contact and tap his fingers on his lap. 


Despite how bad she felt, she refused to go easy on him. This had to do with her cousin and she couldn't fall weak. 


All she wanted to do was protect Kate. 


Those who knew her, were well aware of how protective she was of Kate. She always worried about Kate, especially now. 


Julie had no doubt that it would hurt, if ever she found out that Max was full of wrong intentions towards Kate. It hadn't been long since they all have known each other, but a friendship had developed. 


She decided to hear him out first and let him have his say, before she got ahead of herself, and assume the worst. 


' There must be a reason for all this.' She tried to convince herself. 


' He wouldn't try and hurt ----' She quickly pushed that thought at the back of her mind.
