New Friends

Madison dragged her back and some people were staring because Ga Eul was flapping her hands trying to reach the candied fruit section "Gaeul, you can't have candied fruits for lunch, it is a snack. Also, act more proper and mature, we're university students now, people will look at us weirdly if you act childish in public"

Qilin chuckled "It's funny but I want candied fruits too"

Ga Eul's eyes sparkled and Madison resigned in defeat "Fine, we can buy some candied fruits too"

Qilin was puzzled "Buy? But in our country, we get it for free because it is included in our fees"

Madison sighed "Yeah, that's for you guys. Here, students have to buy it"

Qilin realized "That's why it is different and diverse here. Cool"

Madison pointed at the open double door at the passage "So everyone, go get their own meal and meet at that door in the next twenty minutes, how about that?"

Qilin nodded "I'm cool with that"

Ga Eul already scurried off and Madison rolled her eyes "That girl is as impatient as a cat, see you in twenty minutes, don't get lost. This cafeteria is like a maze"

Qilin nodded "Okay then"

Madison went in search of her meal while Qilin scanned the whole place and decided to get something solid so he got Yoghurt, Tiramisu, Rye bread with strawberry jam, Lasagna, Cheeseburger and kimchi then headed towards the door quickly because he used up the twenty minutes like five minutes ago

Qilin immediately apologized when he met the two girls there "Sorry I took long, I was distracted by food"

Ga Eul waved her hands "You don't have to apologize for that, we all get distracted by food sometimes"

Madison said as she raised her food bag up "Likewise now let's go get a drink before we eat"

Qilin was puzzled but followed them anyways and when they went through the door, he was amazed by how huge the dining place was "Wow, that is a lot of tables and chairs and people too"

The girls turned right towards a row of vending machines on the side with different drinks, soda, juice, milkshakes and so on

Ga Eul went to the milkshake vending machine and Madison went towards the juice vending machine while Qilin went to the boba tea vending machine

After getting their drinks, they found an empty table and placed their food bags on the table then Ga Eul said "Let me be the first to share with you what I picked"

As she mentioned them, she also brought it out "First, culturally, I got tteobokki then I got pancakes and surely candied apples, five of them even then I got a strawberry milkshake to top"

Qilin realized "I forgot to get the candied fruits"

Madison and Ga Eul quickly offered two of theirs then Qilin accepted it gleefully and Ga Eul squinted her eyes at Madison "You got Candied blueberries? Where did you even get them?"

Madison giggled cheerfully and started mentioning her meal "Three Candied blueberries, five on a stick, fries and fried chicken then I got watermelon juice to top it off"

Qilin was shy and just brought out his own with a tinge of red on his cheeks

Ga Eul and Madison were shocked as Madison said "You eat a lot, how does it fit in?"

Ga Eul curiously asked "Is this your normal everyday meal or you're just extra hungry today?"

Qilin smiled wryly "Normal everyday meal"

Ga Eul gasped "But you're so slim and fit, you look like you're on a diet"

Madison sighed and patted Ga Eul's shoulder, it's a gift some of us just don't have"

They started eating and having small talks in between

Ga Eul was shocked "Maddie, didn't the school say it was compulsory to be staying on campus"

Madison nodded worriedly as she told Qilin "The deadline is this Friday or your admission will be revoked. You have to get a room in the boys' hostel as soon as possible"

Qilin inquired as he took a bite out of his cheeseburger "How do I go about that?"

Ga Eul took a sip of her milkshake first "It doesn't take time. Maddie, our next class is by two right?"

Madison replied "Yeah that's right but I have a departmental meeting to get to by one which I just got informed of in the department group"

Ga Eul looked puzzled "My department already had their meeting in the morning, why did yours place it right before class?"

Madison sighed "I don't know too"

Ga Eul inquired from Qilin who was enjoying his yoghurt "Has your department had its meeting yet? Thou future models?"

Qilin answered "It's tomorrow by eleven though, will I still be able to go get a hostel?"

Ga Eul patted her chest "I know the way because Madison's older brother is the one in charge so I can take you to him, no worries"

Madison stood up and packed all her dirty plates into the trash on the side then tidied up "The venue has been decided so I have to go now since there are only fifteen minutes left before one, see you guys in class"

And with that, she hurried off then Ga Eul giggled "Maddie likes to be on time. When you're done eating, we can set off since the registration building is not that far from here, I even know a shortcut"

Qilin pushed away the tree branch in his face and removed the leaves in his hair "Climbing trees and sneaking inside bushes is not a shortcut, do you notice those weird looks we got when we were spotted"

Ga Eul spat the leaf in her mouth and jumped down "Who cares about that when we're here!"

Qilin gracefully got down from the tree as they both stood at the back of the registration building "We're taking the back entrance?"

Ga Eul nodded as she pushed the iron door open "We can get to Bro Mike faster from the back than the front where there will be a lot of people because today is literally the first day of resumption for freshmen like us"

Qilin thought about it "I guess you do have a point but next time, no more tree climbing or bush walking. My hair's all messed up now and my hoodie's wrinkled also I think I tore a fabric back there and got a scratch"

Ga Eul glanced at him and waved her hands "You whine like a girl, your hair is fine. No one's gonna see us"

Qilin draped his hood over his head "I thought you said no one would see us"

Ga Eul pulled Qilin as they both hid under the shadows of the stairs as the footsteps grew increasingly louder

Then the feet stopped right in front of them and said "Autumn, I know you're there with your new friend, just come out already"

Ga Eul recognized the voice and popped out "Bro Will! You're here"

Qilin stood up only to see a guy with Prussian blue hair and baby blue eyes dressed in Navy blue long sleeve shirt and corporate blue pants standing at a height of 169cm 'Oh my, he's tall'

Wilson looked at Qilin and inquired "You must be Linlin? Are you really a boy?"

Qilin nodded and Wilson said 'oh' "But with your hair messy, you look more like a girl who just woke up from bed"

Qilin scrunched up his face at Ga Eul who hid behind Wilson "You still look good"

Qilin sighed and tried to properly adjust his hair but he was just making it worse so Wilson held his hands and removed it from the hair then said "Leave it, I'll do it"

Wilson gently brushed the hair with his hands as smoothen the rough edges 'His hair is so soft and.. what's that word, fluffy, it's playing with a dog'

Qilin suddenly jotted backwards and Wilson's hands froze in place "What's wrong, did I hurt you?"

Qilin shook his head while slightly blushing then Ga Eul peeked "Bro Will, Linlin is getting embarrassed because you're playing with his hair which must be tingly to him"

Wilson interpreted those words in his own way and coughed slightly "Let's head up to see Mike then"

Wilson opened the door to reveal three people inside "I've brought them"

A guy with platinum blonde hair and blue eyes dressed in a black jacket, white tank top and black jeans with a probable height of 168cm sitting on the chair raised his head from the papers stacked on the table and a girl with medium length ginger red and maroon red eyes dressed in a sleeveless floral fitted mini gown was standing at a height of 164cm beside him also looked towards the door

Then the girl with waist length cherry pink hair and chocolate brown eyes dressed in purple hoodie reaching her knees and black shorts which aren't visible with a probable height of 160cm was sitted on a couch on the side said "Gaeul, you're here?"

Ga Eul excitedly ran to her and hugged her "Sissy Rose, I didn't know you'd be here. I would have gotten some candied fruits for you too but I finished them already"

Rose giggled and patted her back "It's fine, I already had some"

Wilson asked Qilin "Should I introduce them to you?"

Ga Eul hurriedly said "I'll do the introductions! Me!"

Wilson nodded "Fine, I'll leave it to you, Gaeul"

Ga Eul started off "This is Maddie's older brother, Michael but you can call him Bro Mike, he's in his fourth year and is studying business administration while the girl beside him is his girlfriend-"

She cut her off "You can call me Stella, I'm in my third year and studying International Relations"

Ga Eul pouted but continued anyways "This is Sissy Rose, full name is Rose Bud and she is also in her third year studying Theatre and Performing Arts then the cold face beside you is Wilson Parle, call him Bro Will. He is in his fourth year like Bro Mike but he is studying Law"

Ga Eul then pulled Qilin in since he was shyly standing at the door "And everyone, this is Fang Qilin, he is a Chinese boy. He is also me and Maddie's new best friend! He looks like a girl, right?"

Michael nodded "If you hadn't said he is a boy even with his name, he would still seem like a girl to me, right, Stella?"

Stella nodded "Even his demeanor is a bit girly"

Qilin was alert and tried to stand properly "Sorry"

Michael asked "So what are you guys here for? Maddie didn't state in her message"

Ga Eul placed a finger on her chin before she could recall why they came in the first place "Oh yeah I remember now, because it is compulsory to be in the dorm for all students and blah blah deadline stuff"

Michael was puzzled "Hold up, he hasn't gotten a dorm yet? Why?"

Ga Eul shrugged "It's not his fault, he didn't know it was necessary"

Michael beckoned Qilin to come closer and gave him a form to fill out "Fill out this form and I'll assign your dorm room number when you're done"

Michael told Rose "Rose, help me guide him while he fills it out"

Wilson said as he stepped out "I have a project to submit so see you later"

Michael answered "Okay, Will"i

Rose helped Qilin while Ga Eul played games on her phone and Stella aided Michael as he continued with his paperwork

Qilin took the form to Michael "It's done"

Michael collected it and open the drawer then picked a key from the top drawer "Your roommate has already moved in since yesterday so you should move in this evening so you two can get acquainted. Also no girls allowed in the male dormitory after seven , same goes for the female dormitory. Curfew is ten o'clock that means you must be in your room by ten or you will be penalized. No stealing or entry of other rooms without permission even if it is open. No loud music. No partying or causing ruckus inside the dorm. No fighting"

Ga Eul gasped "So many rules, Bro Mike the same goes for girls?"

Michael nodded "Rules and regulations are needed so that everyone can live in peace with their roommates and dorm mates too"

Michael then faced Qilin who was looking at the key "Your room number is on it as you can see"

Qilin inquired "Err what's the name of my roommate?"

Michael looked through the dorm register "Dorm B, Room 508 on the fifth floor, Azlin Guillaume, he has facial paralysis so he might seem unapproachable. He is also a freshman and is studying English and Linguistics"

Ga Eul popped out behind Qilin "He sounds Frenchy"

Michael smiled "It is because he is French"

Ga Eul widened her eyes with an "oh"

Qilin bowed and said "Thank you"

Michael waved his hand "It's nothing, you're Maddie's friend so it's the least I could do. Come to me if you need help anytime okay?"

Ga Eul looked at the time and said as she pulled Qilin and bolted for the door "Okay Bro Mike, we'll be going now since we have a class by two so byeee"

Ga Eul and Qilin disappeared quickly before Michael could say bye so he just smiled

After class, Madison, Ga Eul and Qilin walked out of the lecture theater then Ga Eul asked "Qilin, do you need help moving in when you get back later?"

Qilin shook his head "No need, thanks for the offer though, I'll text you guys in the group chat when I'm done packing"

[Ga Eul created a group for just the three of them]

Madison said "Okay bye then see you later"

Ga Eul waved her hands "Be careful, Linlin"

Qilin waved back before hurrying out of the building

When Qilin got home, he met Yilao and a girl with waist length chocolate brown hair and golden brown eyes dressed in a black T-shirt and white jean shorts watching a Barbie movie on TV

Yilao heard him when he opened the door so she excitedly shouted "Linlin, you're back! Molly's here but Dad isn't home yet though"

Molly stood up to greet Qilin "Lin Gege, it's been a while"

Qilin smiled "Molly, how have you been?"

Molly gleefully replied "Real good. Lin Gege, you've become prettier now"

Yilao squinted her eyes "No I don't think so"

Qilin ignored her taunt and said as he went up the stairs "I'll be right back"

Qilin used almost three hours to pack his stuff when he came back down with two luggages, Yanghu was already back and it was almost time for Molly to go home

Yanghu was puzzled when he saw Qilin carrying his luggage and placing it by the door "Linlin, what's going on?"

Qilin turned around "Dad, you're back, thank goodness"

Yilao and Molly were also concerned so Qilin explained everything that happened in the day at school

Yanghu felt a bit down "Oh so you have to stay on campus. When will you be able to come back home?"

Qilin replied with a tinge of sadness "After exams which is still in the next few months"

Yilao said with her down "Linlin, I'm gonna miss you. Dad is that much of a talker so the house is gonna be a bore"

Molly patted her back "I'll come over more often to keep you guys company"

Qilin said "Thanks, Molly"

Yilao shook her head and raised it up "Okay Linlin, get your remaining luggages down here and let me scrutinize what you packed. I know you and you will definitely pack things you don't need or stuff that will expose you"

Qilin went to bring down the two remaining luggages and placed them beside the first two "I only packed things I'm sure I need"

Moly raised an eyebrow "Isn't four a bit too much for a guy? I heard they only need two bags just a bit bigger than a schoolbag"

Yilao rolled her eyes "Oh please, I remember when we went out for a family vacation for three days, Linlin brought more clothes than mine and Dad's own combined. If Extra was a person, it would be my Big brother"

Yilao pointed at the blue one "What's in that?"

Qilin answered "My hoodies, tops, round neck T-shirts and other upper body part clothes"

Yilao squinted her eyes at him "Hope your crop tops aren't there?"

Qilin pursed his lips and shook his head

Yilao stared at him "Linlin?"

Qilin raised a finger and Yilao inquired "Just one"

Qilin replied "Just ten of them"

Yilao rolled her eyes "Take them all out and hope those feminine blouses you bought are not there"

Qilin reluctantly opened the blue luggage and took them out "No they aren't"

Yilao scoffed "Screw the questioning, I'll check each and everyone myself"
