Chapter 4: Day 1

(It's been a two days since the lost brother side quest and Zack has spent this time upgrading Nightwalker by going on multiple side quests)

(He has gathered much Ron and used it to buy a low grade sword as well as cheap armor in preparation of the ranking tournament)

The day's finally arrived, I just hope I'm ready for this. No I am ready for this, time to lock in.

(Nightwalker returns to the World Guild and talks to the receptionist)

Hey there I'm back and ready for action. Also I want to thank you for the advice on taking side quests.

My pleasure, and it looks like you've gotten yourself some pretty decent armor as well as a decent sword. Well let me not waste your time with idle chatter, follow me and I'll lead you to the battle grounds.

Alright. {I don't know why but I'm so pumped up for this. All I've been doing is fighting monsters from side quests, I kinda wanna see what it's like to fight actual players}

(The receptionist then leaves and Nightwalker follows suit. After a bit of walking the receptionist leads Nightwalker into a large open grassland)

(In the battleground Nightwalker sees a lot of different players gathered, he notices that all these players have different weapons and armor. He then realizes that this will not be an easy fight)

(As Nightwalker heads to the center of the battleground he is approached by a familiar player)

(When this player gets close Nightwalker becomes infuriated as he realizes that this was the same player that had mocked him two days earlier for his lack of knowledge)

(The player then arrives at Nightwalker's location and begins to mock him once more)

Well well look who it is Mr know nothing hahaha. So how's it been going so far, I see that you have low grade armor and a low grade sword. I must admit, I'm a bit surprised you managed to access the store menu hahaha.

You prick! Have you just come here to mock me again. Last time I let you off easy because you helped me but this time you'll know very well who you're dealing with.

Is that a challenge, you're kidding right? Do you know who I am. I am Black Blade the best player in the server heck I'm the best player in the entire game. I mean seriously, I've got the best weapons, the best armor. Your eyes should be telling you the entire story but I guess stupid people do tend to be blind.

Well since you're so confident how about we settle this on the battlefield. This is a tournament so I'm sure there's bound to versus battles. So let's make sure we both make so we can see who's the real alpha.

Fiesty, I like that. Very well since you're so hell bent on getting you butt handed to you who am I to deny you the chance. Just make sure you don't lose before I get the chance to show you who's alpha.

(Black Blade then walks away laughing. Nightwalker swears that he'll defeat him)

(After the confrontation between Nightwalker and Black Blade the announcer begins talking)

Welcome guild members to the official World Guild ranking tournament. My name is Trojan, I am the guild master and I will also be your announcer today. The rules are quite simple. As my receptionists have informed you, the tournament will take place in the span of four days. Real days not game days by the way. The first day will consist of the battle royale in which the fifth players present will duke it out amongst each other, the remaining eight will get to proceed. The second day will feature 1v1 battles among the eight candidates choosen from the first day, those who win will proceed to the semi-finals. On the third day it will be the the semi-finals, at this point there should be four of you left same rules as before apply those who win will progress to the finals. We now reach the fourth and final day, on the grand finale the two people that manage to make it that far will duke it out one on one and the winner will take it all. That takes care of the rules and lastly a word to all the participants be sure to give you audience a great show, now without further ado let's get this show on the road.

(There was a brief silence but chaos quickly ensued, the battleground quickly became a battlefield)

(Players began attacking each other, it became carnage, but Nightwalker saw this coming and got out of range before the commenced)

Yikes that got ugly very quickly. Good thing I was smart enough to get outta there quickly now all I've gotta do is determine how to get into the top eight. Wait a minute, these guys are all distracted by the carnage, that gives me an Idea. Good thing I bought the stealth armor.

(Using the stealth armor he bought, Nightwalker hid his presence and began taking out the players who were distracted by the battle)

(He took out a total of ten players. He locked on to his eleventh prey but before he could execute his attack he was his by a projectile and knocked back a few meters)

(When he got up he saw five players approaching him. Then one of the players spoke)

Hey there you sneaky prick, thought you could get yourself to the top eight by being an assassin huh. Well me and my comrades here aren't gonna allow that plus you disrespected our leader so we're not gonna let you go.

Wait that prick is your leader, you can't be serious. Well I was hoping we could resolve this peacefully but it seems that won't be happening. {Five on one huh? This is getting exciting}

(Nightwalker unsheathed his sword and took a ready stance. The players rush upon him attacking from all sides)

(Nightwalker dodged all attacks that were thrown his way but due to the number of his opponents he began losing ground quickly)

Bastards. {Dammit these guys won't give me a break. They're smart enough not to give me space, because of that I'm losing ground and fast. Although I can tell these guys are pretty incompetent one on one except the guy who spoke to me earlier and from the looks of it he seems to be the leader. It would be wise to go after him first}

(Nightwalker narrowly dodges four of the players attacks, he then uses this as an opportunity to attack the leader)

(As he heads for the leader he rushes with an attack but the leader makes an unexpected dodge before he could follow up with another attack Nightwalker is stopped by the other four)

You coward! Hiding behind you entourage are you? {This is how it becomes tricky. Aw man this guy is a coward, I mean what kind of leader hides behind his followers ,though I shouldn't be surprised they are followers of that guy}

Aww what's the matter, you can't beat us. If you can't even beat the five of us and you the nerve to challenge our leader pathetic.

What did you say!? {Man this guy is really ticking me off but I've got to calm down. Since this guy is so hell bent on hiding behind these guys, I'll just have to take out his shields and I've just figured out the perfect way to do that}

(Nightwalker fends off the four players whilst dodging the leaders ranged attacks. He the leaps back and plunges his sword into the ground)

(After plunging his sword into the ground he baits the four players into attacking him. When they get close he begins rapidly spinning)

(His spinning creates a dust cloud around leaving the four guys disoriented he then activates the stealth of his armor and begins taking out the players one by one)

(After taking out the players he turns to the leader smiling)

Well would you look at that, looks like your human shields are down for the count what you gonna do now?

Aahh you bastard! You'll pay for this.

(The leader charges towards Nightwalker for an attack, Nightwalker sees this coming and dodges but as he looks back he sees the leader running away)

Oh no you don't, think you can get away well think again. {Of course he's. He's that kind of player that can't take a loss}

(Nightwalker tightly grips his sword with two hands, he then builds up his speed. Once fast enough he begins unleashing a flurry of slashes until the leaders HP drops to zero)

(As he finishes the leader he hears a huge bell signifying the end of the battle royale)

Wait it's over? Guess this guy was the last to be taken out. Hmm serves you right you bastard. It looks like Black Blade made it as well, good I'll teach him more of a lesson when we meet.

(The Guild Master begins speaking)

WOW!! That was one spectacular brawl, what a show. Well congratulations to top eight we'll be seeing you tomorrow, and that ends things for today be sure to come tomorrow to see some epic brawls.

(After the announcement Nightwalker heads out of the battleground and heads towards the Guild hall)

(Nightwalker then approaches the receptionist)

Hey there well what did you think?

Truth be told I wasn't expecting you'd make it to the top eight you really surprised me but I'm afraid your win streak won't last long. I mean you made an enemy of Black Blade so you're pretty much screwed.

That chump I'll beat him into the ground just you see.

(After talking to the reception Zack logs out of the game and switches off his console)

(He then heads to bed)

{Man today's session went crazy, although those players were tougher than I expected. My armor and sword held up fine but lack of other equipment kinda got to me. I'll need to review the equipment I. Aw well that's a matter for tomorrow)

Zack then lies down and goes to sleep
