Chapter 28 A Small Fire

Leaving the police station, it was already midnight. I sighed and drove home. By the time I arrived, Zheng Yufei had long been asleep, and I tiptoed into my own bedroom, not wanting to disturb her.

After a quick shower, I lay in bed tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Every time I thought about today's events, I felt an indescribable anger. How could such love-obsessed behavior still exist in this new era?

Finally, out of frustration, I grabbed my phone and selected a piece of trending music to go along with a picture of watermelon slices filled with question marks.

After much consideration, I decided that the text of my post would read, "Family, who understands, huh? My husband hits me because he loves me; otherwise, why wouldn't he hit someone else?"

With a bit of editing, I posted it on my social media account. Then I turned off my phone and went to sleep.
