Chapter 48: Having a Great Time

I somewhat regretted having frightened them, as Ailinda too was left dizzy and disoriented by that deafening demonic sound. She looked at me with a bit of blame, and I, feeling a tad embarrassed, scratched my head.

"All right, we've got the clues and the key now; we can go," I said as I patted Guo Linlin's head to soothe her.

Only then did Guo Linlin lift her pale little face, her eyes brimming with tears. She then broke free from Ailinda's embrace and started punching my chest with her fist, "You're so mean, how could you scare me like that?"

I let Guo Linlin hit me, still hugging her comfortingly. Finally, when Guo Linlin got tired of punching, I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her tightly, "Okay, okay, I was wrong, isn't that enough?"
