"I've gone missing, will that money-grubbing jerk worry about me?" Xinru gazed into the clear river water, thinking forlornly.

"Pah, pah, pah... That deadbeat wouldn't worry about me. If he's worried, it's probably about not getting his money, right?" As Xinru mulled over this, she began talking to herself.

Chen Feng had been searching for Xinru for most of the day without a trace, growing increasingly irritable. Suddenly, with a loud shout, he punched and snapped a nearby tree trunk as thick as a bowl, venting his anger.

Tracking wasn't exactly his forte; if only Hei Zi were here. That guy was an expert in wilderness survival. It wouldn't matter if it was a person or even a monkey lost in the forest; he'd find them. Unfortunately, Hei Zi was miles away, and even if he were to head over now, it would take days—at which point it might be too late.
