She nodded to the manager without any concern.

After everyone had taken their places, Ning Ruixi located the spot where the interpreter was supposed to stand and positioned herself accordingly based on memory.

The foreign old man was obviously very angry and started with a barrage of blunt accusations. Ning Ruixi listened with a smile, her expression unaltered by his scolding. The words she translated, however, completely omitted the old man's ranting, using a much more diplomatic and polite phraseology.

After all, as an interpreter in a negotiation, it's more important to maintain control of the atmosphere than simply to convey the parties' exact words correctly.

She believed that if she had translated the old man's words exactly as expressed, the Chinese side might have lost their composure.

It was surprising to see a young girl in her twenties sitting at the negotiation table so calmly, without a hint of nervousness or panic.
