"In the midst of resuscitation."
When the words "resuscitation" struggled out of one of the team members' mouths, it was as if a key had suddenly unlocked the emotional floodgates of everyone present.
Those who had been silent, not uttering half a word, were now chokingly letting out their emotions in unison.
Just the thought of their leader's body they had seen, not a single part unscathed, was enough to make them hardly able to hold back their tears. It is often said that a man should not easily shed tears, and soldiers even less so, bleeding and sweating without crying. But at this moment, no one was concerned with that.
Their emotions were wandering as they never had before. Everyone was praying, praying that the man, the one who always stood in front of them, could be safe and sound.
"Where's Doctor Lai?"
