Wei's mother was not to be swayed, "What was in the past is in the past, and now is now. You do know how many years it has been since you lived at home, right? Is it unreasonable for me, as a mother, to want my son and daughter-in-law to stay over for one night? If you argue again, you two will move back home tomorrow."
Wei Shiran felt a bit of a headache.
It seemed there was no room for maneuver; he had no choice but to acquiesce.
Wei's mother wasn't asking for their opinion, but had already made up her mind, "Li Rao, Shiran has had too much to drink. Take him back to the room to rest; thank you for taking care of him."
It wasn't until the two of them had gone upstairs that Wei's mother turned to Mrs. Shen and asked, "Did you really hear them arguing?"
"Absolutely certain, Shiran even yelled at Li Rao, with quite an aggressive attitude," Mrs. Shen stated as if it were a grave matter.
