LIFE OF A COMMONER I

"Who are you?" The question repeated in his head.

He doesn't remember when someone had asked him that.

Sebastian looked at the girl before him, "Was she just playing dumb or is she being serious right now? He thought.

"Who are you? Why were you in that state when I found you by the sea shore?" Isabella repeated her question

This time Sebastian knew she wasn't faking it. It didn't make sense that someone here doesn't know who he is.

"I'm..." He paused.

There was no reason to reveal his identity now else it would foil his plans.

Isabella waited patiently for him to finish, her eyes burning with curiosity.

"Sebastian". He said finally. "My name is Sebastian"

"Sebastian. The name rolled off her tongue softly

"But, what happened to you, why were you....?"

"I'm sorry but I can't tell you more than what I just said". Sebastian cut in

"You just said your name". Isabella argued

"And that is enough. I'm not disclosing anything about myself to a stranger". Sebastian replied.

Isabella stopped. "Stranger?"She muttered

"Yes, we are strangers. There's nothing attached to us except for the fact that your saved me". Sebastian said

Isabella bit her lip and lowered her gaze.

"But.., we're going to be living in the same house. So..." She stretched her hand forward.

"You can call me Isabella. That's my name". She said

"I prefer kid bunny more" Sebastian replied nonchalantly

"Why you... I'm not a kid, and definitely not a bunny" She snapped

Sebastian held her hand. "Nice to meet you Kid"

Isabella rolled her eyes as they shook hands. Her phone rang and she released her hand from his before picking up her phone.

"Hello Madam Mitch". She said and paused.

"Right now?" She asked

"Alright, I'll be there". She ended the call and faced Sebastian.

"I have to go". She said

Sebastian looked at her. "Why are you telling me?" He asked

Isabella blew her cheek. "Meanie. She mumbled and walked to the room.

She came out wearing a gray scarf around her neck while she held her bag.

"Hey, can you get me something on your way back?" Sebastian asked

Isabella looked at him with a raised brow.

"That" Sebastian pointed at her scarf. "And a face cap, black to be precise". He said

Isabella crossed her arm and stared at him in a scolding manner.

"What?" Sebastian asked

"Don't you know how to use the magic word?"

"Abracadabra?" Sebastian looked at her with innocent eyes.

Isabella maintained her scolding face and Sebastian sighed, he grimaced as though it was something too hard to say.

"Please". He said reluctantly

Isabella smiled, her dimples standing out prettily.

"Great. See you later meanie". She waved and went out.

"Oh now we're using nicknames". He muttered.

His looked at the flashdrive in his hand for a while and he clenched his jaw.

"The time for sulking is over now, now is the time for action". He muttered.

He stood up and went to the room where he got a pen and paper.

He came back to the living room and began scribbling on it.

Since the first day he started receiving death calls and threatening messages he decided to do his own investigation.

Being the genius he is, he didn't bother to hire anyone; he did it himself and he had one person in his mind.

But then the accident happened and he knew it wasn't who he had in mind, now he has to start from the top again.

He bit his lip as he tried to remember. His eyes snapped open.

During the time of the crash he noticed one thing; He found the pilot asleep.

"There's two things now he has to consider; One, the pilot was drugged before the flight started or....

Sebastian paused and raised his head, his gaze staring farther than the door.

He suddenly smiled.

[Not the; this cake taste really taste delicious kinda smile but the; This is gonna be fun, deathly fun]

He scribbled on the paper again, his gaze solely on the paper.

He rested his back on the couch as he stared at the paper.

He nodded; "Let's get started"

........

SOON Isabella came back holding a bag.

"Meanie I'm home". She called as she closed the door.

Sebastian came out of the room with a frown, his arms crossed on his chest.

"We're not married or a couple kid bunny, and my name is Sebastian not meanie". He said cooly

Isabella made faces at him. She sat on the couch and opened the bag.

"Come here". She signaled him

Sebastian rolled his eyes and walked up to her, he sat down.

"Guess what I bought for you?" She sing-song

"I don't have time for this". He said uninterestingly

Isabella pouted, blinking her eyes cutely.

Sebastian sighed and decided to play along.

"What'd you got?"

"I said guess". Isabella returned back to her cheerful manner

Sebastian knew first hand she got the cap and the scarf so why should he stall. Instead of saying that he found himself saying;

"New clothes?"

Isabella shook her head

"Foot wear?"

She shook her head again

"Strawberry?" Sebastian paused.

Now that he thinks about it, those things he mentioned are what he really needs. Like strawberries.

"Damn when last did he have strawberries"?

He looked at Isabella who seemed sad.

"I didn't know you wanted those". She muttered

Given that she didn't earn much, she only bought him a few clothes and she was sure it wasn't enough.

Sebastian sighed softly when he saw the look on her face.

"The cap and scarf. Did you get it?" He asked

Isabella brought out the cap and scarf from the bag and gave it to him.

"Thank you". He muttered and stood up to leave.

Isabella stood up and held his sleeve.

Sebastian stopped and turned to her with a blank look.

"What?" He asked

Isabella bit her lip to stop herself from saying what she wanted to say.

"Nothing, I'll see you later. I have work to do". She smiled slightly and turned to leave.

She picked up her bag and left the house.

Sebastian went back into the room.
