Chapter 5

She perked up and smiled to him as she waved her hand. The maid excusing herself and once again, closing the door behind her. Leilannia set the book down and turned to where his voice was coming from, "Yes my lord? Was the scroll what you were looking for? My Father said they were once good friends, maybe that alchemy lady had notes to help you or something?"

The moment he had confirmed that they were alone and when she was done talking Alexandru spoke, "That woman- the missing alchemist was my mother. She is dead. She was murdered ceremoniously, sacrificed by your gods. The same way your people used to sacrifice vampires. Hanging and draining her blood by the chest, hips, toes and wrists and burned by the steak. My father did not have prejudice for your species when he sought this war. It was vengeance. I stopped him because I knew this was not what she wanted. Before I took down my father, he begged me to find the people who killed her. To seek out the ones who wronged her, simply because she had a loved a vampire, "Alexandru's gaze left hers as he thought of his family before the war started, "I wish I was as calm as my mother was with this but.. A part of me definitely holds the rage my father had..." he sighed softly before he spoke firmly, "Unlike my father, I wish to direct my rage to those who deserve it."

His voice growled like a beast in his hushed tone. "Yes, I still seek peace, princess, but this vendetta must be found. I will not let their crime go unseen. This scroll... It was your father praising my father for the birth of his child; me... He knew... Your father, the Elven King was aware of me! Then he must have known of my mother... he must have been the one who allowed her to be with my father..."

She sat there and listened. The words he said rocked her to the core of her delicate soul. Leilania's hands slowly found Alexandru's and brought them to her throat, "I'm sorry, my lord. I'm sorry for the bloodshed my father or my people had caused. I apologize if that truly is the case. I have not known my father to hold a grudge but if he did, please take my life for his. I cannot bring your mother back, and I cannot cure your wounds, but if it will ease your pain and call your taste for vengeance then please.... Take my life." Her voice was calm, tears slid down her cheeks. The pain in her eyes, hidden from the somewhat soaked blindfold.

Though at Alexandru's pain, he didn't deserve it and her people caused it, she wanted to end it. This cleared the image of Leilania's perspective. She felt helpless for everyone she knew and loved. Even the young Vampire who entered her home. to offer her life willingly to him. It rung something in the back of Alexandru's head.

There was a long moment of silence. Alexandru felt her neck. The pumping of blood traveling through her arteries could be felt. Her words so poignant and thorough. He bit his lip in restraint and his thoughts raced, as her offer felt so tantalizing for some reason. To bite her down and drain her. To let her blood travel into his mouth and fill him in, as his hands were all over her. To hold her so firmly on his lap as he drank her dry. His heart pounded at the thought, but something else throbbed between his legs at the thought too. Then it made sense why he felt so suddenly inclined to oblige her request. Alexandru was not thirsting for blood. He simply wanted to sire her.

His thumb on her neck glided around her chin and then to her cheek to wipe her tears away, "You are not the one who killed my mother, and I doubt your father made the order to do so. My father has taken enough lives in this war. Killing would cause more problems then fix them. I simply wish to seek out the ones who took my mother's life, and I need your help..." he pleaded softly.

Her hand slowly loved to hold his on her cheek as she gently closed her eyes, feeling his cold skin against her warm cheeks. Her body was practically nude in front of him but she was focus on his touch. "I promise, as future queen of Darnussus, I will do EVERYTHING in my power my lord to release you of ALL burdens. We will find those who killed your mother and send your father into insanity....what they did was barbaric. We do not even worship the old gods anymore, sacrifices are disgusting....my father put a stop to them centuries ago...which means...it must be someone equally as old as he would be.."

Alexandru gave a smile nod and big smile as he held her so gently, "This knowledge is beyond what I had expected, and I would never take the life of... Hmm..." He realized with the blindfold on her face, she is still ignorant of what the scroll held inside. He chuckled as he padded he hand and continued, "Well- I think it would be best for you to get someone personal to read this to you, when you have the time. For now, I am tired. The day may be starting but I slumber rather early. It would give you time to realize why I may need to rethink the future of our relationship, my Princess," he said, teasingly, before he stepped away from the table. He then rolled the scroll back up and handed it to her, "I recall you saying that you have a room for me?"

Leilania sat there a bit baffled before nodding softly, "I- um... Yes! Of course. If you turn left and follow the hall down, you will see a green crystal door, That's your abode for you to stay. I thank you my lord. Please sleep well," She walked over to the pull rope and rung it. With maids coming in after a moment, one ready to lead Alexandru to his room. The other taking the scroll from the princess and preparing to read it to her.

Alexandru found it somewhat fascinating how the maids were ready on a dime. perhaps they were never alone? He doubted the information they gave to one another would ever be slipped outside this library. He trusted her enough for that.

"I hope our co-operation brings success to both of our lives and kingdoms, Alexandru started, "Tomorrow, I wish to have a proper tour of your land, I've been told it's the place elves all around the world go to to seek love. Until then, please. Enjoy the rest of your day, Princess Leilania. Oh, and please. Call me Alex," he said with a bright grin as he then walked alongside the maid, escorting him out of the library and into the halls of the tree.

At the end of the hall, like she said, was a green door embroidered with green crystals all over it. He gave the maid a soft bow, and walked into his room. It was a fairly sized bedroom. A queen bed with a simple brown fabric sheet and a black blanket on it, on an elven wooden bedframe. A wooden framed window and a mirror on the opposite side of the room from the bed. He looked at the mirror and saw his reflection. However, the most vampiric parts of him were transparent. His eyes looked hollow in the reflection, necrotic. White. His fangs non existent. Due to having multiple pairs of fangs it just looked like he was missing teeth. Why would her king be-wed her to such a freak?

The princess hurried to her room in the opposite side of the hall, after being read the note. Her cheeks flared in a embarrassed blush.

Husband! Husband! My father wanted me to wed him?! A-ah?!

She dunked to her large queen bed. The satin sheets hugging against her as she closed her eyes. Well, in her perspective, after everything… In all honesty, it was the best way to force peace between them, and to find his mother's killer.

Alex huffed silently, as he flopped onto the sheets of the bed he was given and he silently chuckled to himself as he stared at the ceiling. He then started laughing hard. He smiled so brightly as he rubbed his face realizing he was blushing, the whole time she was there at the library. He almost forgot that feeling of fluster. He recalled when his mom would blow raspberries on his belly and how he felt this feeling of love and warmth in himself. He rubbed his belly remembering such sweet memories before he closed his eyes and fell into a deep slumber.

Leilania laid there in silence, her heart beating in her ears as she thought of feeling and hearing him smile… His tongue on her finger… The soft, cold skin of the hands that adored her so easily and gently… She would be honored… To be his wife….
