Dozens of kilometers away from Jinjiang City, above the East Sea, lies an archipelago of thousands of islands, among which the most famous one is a renowned domestic Buddhist holy site and scenic spot.
There are also several well-known beaches on this island, where the sand, hot and flowing under the direct sunlight, emits a golden glow like gold. Paired with the backdrop of blue skies and white clouds, the azure waves create a stunning scene that is too much for the eyes to take in all at once.
At present, the bridge that could span the sea wouldn't be built for another decade or so. To reach the island, one typically had to drive for several hours to the port and then take a ferry that transported both people and vehicles.
As a desirable destination for both followers and tourists, there were always visitors taking the passenger ferry to and from the island every day. However, there were noticeably fewer people on the beach today than usual.
