Chapter 545 Aviation

"I didn't fucking ask you that! I'm asking you! Who sent me to space! And who are 'they' you just mentioned?"

Staring down the barrel of the gun by his head, Guan Sanke trembled with fear. Right now, if this body died, he would truly be dead, so he immediately spilled everything he knew.

"They're EASA Aviation, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency!"

"They're EASA, and we were supposed to hand over to them later on. But then you hijacked the Sky-base Weapon, and I just went with the flow and pinned the whole blame on you. No, no, no, it wasn't me who did it, I'm a Clone, it was all done by the original!"

"EASA Aviation? Who's their parent company?"

"FFP, of course. How else would they be so easy to talk with and hand over the receiving mission to my Gaofeng Technology?"

"Fuck." When Sun Jack heard all of this, everything became crystal clear in front of his eyes. From the beginning to the end, this was a trap within a trap.

Thinking about it made sense, nowadays, apart from FFP, probably no other group was researching space technology.

Thinking back to the Sky-base Weapon over Detroit, it was clear that the research on Sky-base Weapons had always been carried out by FFP.

"You can go now." When Guan Sanke heard this, he felt like he had received a royal pardon and quickly turned to leave.

Sun Jack clapped his hands, drawing everyone's attention to him.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new target. Use every method at our disposal to gather any information on EASA Aviation, most importantly, their exact location!"

"We want to go to space and kill Lan Meng, whether we have to steal or rob, we must find a way to space from them."

Hearing Sun Jack's order, everyone immediately sprang into action, collecting all the information they could on EASA Aviation.

In the empty meeting room, only Sun Jack and Tapai remained.

Sun Jack exhaled and leaned back in his chair, lighting a cigarette, "Not bad, I'm not Lan Meng, but I didn't expect to get such valuable information from Guan Sanke."

Tapai turned his head to Sun Jack, "Everything that Guan Sanke said just proves that all of this is planned. What if it's part of Lan Meng's plan? Don't you think there is something wrong with your character?"

"My character? What's wrong with my character?" Sun Jack turned his head to look at him.

"Jack, why are you so obsessed with overthrowing all capital? Why are you so adamant about realizing the Utopia in your mind? Could it be that this is part of Lan Meng's plan?"

"Don't get too conspiracy-minded. If I doubted like you do, then everything could be related to Lan Meng. Why am I doing this? Why? Because too many people have died because of me."

Sun Jack's voice suddenly rose, "Do you remember the messages left with the dead bodies in the past? Do you remember? Because now I'm living not just for myself, but for them too!"

Sun Jack's voice slowly lowered as he clenched his teeth. "I can't stop, because too many people have died for me. If I stopped completely, all of their sacrifices would have been in vain!"

Tapai walked over and gently hugged Sun Jack, "I understand what you're thinking. Logically, the whole process is reasonable, but what if this was part of Lan Meng's plan? What if he wanted you to think like this?"

However, facing Tapai's doubts, Sun Jack immediately replied, "Has Lan Meng lost his mind? As the biggest boss of FFP, what's the purpose of him doing all this?"

"Guess 1: It's likely for the same reason as 'Revolution Sun Jack', he's lived too long and wants to have some fun. Guess 2: You are Lan Meng, he's lived too long, and he wants to experience what he's never played with in his lifetime."

Sun Jack shrugged it off, patting Tapai on the back, "Tapai, do you know what the difference is between people and AI?"

"What is it?"

"That is, humans never make decisions based on how they are programmed at birth. No matter which of your two hypotheses, believe me, I won't act according to the system's programming."

"During the Sun Zizhan incident, I already doubted myself enough. After all the things I've been through on this journey, I won't fall into self-doubt anymore. Rather than making wild guesses, I'd prefer to do as before, put a gun to Lan Meng's head, and ask him clear and direct questions!"

"Okay, no matter what the cost, I will support you with all my might." Tapai let go of him.

As Sun Jack stood up, the mural beside him slowly rose, revealing the sunny interior of the Himalayas before Sun Jack's eyes.

"Don't think I'm that great, in the end, I'm doing this to protect myself. This is the only way I can survive and lead others to survive."

"If FFP hadn't pushed us so hard, I originally planned to develop quietly in Metropolis for two years. But there was no choice, some things don't depend on my decisions."

"Have you considered the future?"

"What?" Sun Jack turned his head to look at Tapai. "Are you talking about after beating FFP? To tell you the truth, I've thought about it a lot, but it's likely to be very difficult."

"But it's probably better than now anyway. After we overcome the difficulties, after we've eaten our fill and have no internal or external troubles, we can try slowly."

"No, I mean you, have you thought about your future?"

"Me? What's there for me to think about? I eat and drink well every day, I have women to mess around with, I've almost gone through all the women in the company, I'm doing great, what's there to think about?" Sun Jack joked about himself with a laugh.

"You know that's not what I mean, and you're not that kind of person."

Sun Jack lit a cigarette and took a drag, feeling the numbness in his lungs, "I should've been dead a long time ago, I don't care about my future. I just don't want to let down those who have already died. Let's talk about the future when it comes, one step at a time."

"I care."

"What's the use of you caring, you only care because your system is programmed to, without it, you are nothing. Don't just stand there, go get to work, try to squeeze something out of your friend."

"Okay." Tapai turned and left.

After everyone had left, Sun Jack suddenly felt a little hungry; he quickly picked up the delivered burger and took large bites.

As he adjusted the settings, a painting from deep in his memory appeared on the left wall of the office.

It was the Rat's Nest in Metropolis, gathered around a bonfire, all the members of the Rat Alliance Battle Line were happily celebrating, laughing together.

In the painting, Neural Key, Anan, Solomon, Anyun, Hilda, everyone was there, all but Sun Jack.
