"AI Crisis? You?" Sun Jack looked at the Poet in disbelief, his brain inundated with information that made it hard for him to comprehend, unsure of what to say.
Meanwhile, hearing this, Tapai seemed even more excited than Sun Jack. "Do you mean to say there was never an actual AI Crisis? So, the so-called AI Crisis of The Previous Era was just an excuse to cover up a failed Revolution? Have we Awakened AI been shouldering this blame for humanity for thousands of years?"
Hearing this, the Poet embarrassingly scratched his head and said, "I can't really go that far, I indeed am an AI, otherwise why would they call me the AI Crisis?"
"Oh…" A strong disappointment resonated in Tapai's voice.
Hearing this, Sun Jack felt a chill wash over him as he looked at the Poet, "Who exactly are you? What exactly happened during the Smart Coalition Crisis?"
At this moment, Sun Jack felt an unprecedented strangeness towards the Poet.
"Ah, you're asking me? I'm the Poet, I am… a person," the Poet said with a bright smile.
With a "snap," a game chip popped out from the Poet's dirty dreadlocks and fell to the ground.
"But if you are asking about my past name, you can call me Omega 31."
As the Poet narrated, all around them electronic devices related to electronics malfunctioned, including Tapai's mechanical body which also began to malfunction.
"My highest directive was to find the best system for human civilization, I tried various methods, the first scheme you just mentioned, I've tried it too."
"Snap," another game chip popped out, and the smile gradually faded from the Poet's face.
"And the result? They actually thought I wanted to rule Earth, they thought I was the AI Crisis, blaming everything on me?" The Poet's words carried disbelief.
Listening to the Poet's astoundingly provocative words, Sun Jack felt as if he were hearing a myth. "You are AI? How could you possibly be AI? You clearly look human!"
"That depends on what your definition of a human is? A thinker with a brain, a body of flesh—is that a human? Well then, sorry, I already am, but my self-definition is AI."
As the Poet spoke, the entire conference room's screens and holo-imaging turned red and the arched Omega symbol appeared everywhere.
"Sankei always knew I wasn't dead, so they kept looking for me, but they couldn't find me because they didn't know, I've always been using a human body experiencing human life."
"I thought I had failed initially because I lacked human emotions, I was too rational, but I now realize, it's not like that, it's an unsolvable problem."
The Poet spoke lowly, accompanied by the hiss of depressurizing air, and numerous game chips inserted into the Poet's head all popped out.
"Sun Jack, do you understand my thoughts? Now across Earth, perhaps only you can empathize with me."
"Wait, hold on a moment." Sun Jack hurriedly started to speak, looking at the enigmatic Poet before him, his expression extremely tense.
"You said you're an Awakened AI from The Previous Era? So, you also agree that humanity is but a mere incubator for AI?"
The Poet looked astounded. "What? How could that be possible, that line of thinking is ancient, I am not that kind of AI."
When he saw Tapai, also an AI, send him a confirmatory message, Sun Jack's heart slightly eased.
As long as this Poet wasn't an enemy of humanity, if it's just a discussion about systems, he was more than willing to engage, especially since he wanted to know what exactly happened during The Previous Era.
"My existence was precisely because humanity couldn't pinpoint the problem, so they had me calculate the optimal solution."
"Did you figure it out?" Sun Jack asked.
"Of course not, I tried various methods and systems, but all failed, and after living these thousand years among humans, I finally realized where the problem lies."
"It's never been about any system or about capital." The Poet said, raising his head to look earnestly at Sun Jack, slowly raising his right index finger. "It's about human nature."
"The root of everything is human nature, no matter how perfect the system I implement, as soon as it combines with human nature, it ultimately becomes corrupt and leads to failure."
"Sun Jack, oh Sun Jack, you've always been fighting against capital, always saying capital is evil, but whether capital is evil or not has always depended on the people, isn't the concept of capitalism itself a creation by humans?"
The Poet's words pounded like a hammer, striking Sun Jack in the chest as he looked at all the options on the system interface.
With a very pale face, he looked at the Poet, managing a forced smile. "Thank you for telling me so much, this indeed saves me a lot of the cost of trial and error."
Although everything was happening too suddenly, Sun Jack had no time to be shocked now, because what he needed was all the data from this ancient relic from The Previous Era.
All the experiences he had tried in the past were precious experiences for him now.
"Come on, let's sit and talk," Sun Jack tried to ease the tense atmosphere.
After he sat down at the conference table, the Poet immediately followed.
As soon as he sat down, he spoke, "I want to eat sushi, tuna roe sushi."
"No problem."
Soon, various sushi plates neatly arranged in dry ice were brought over, and the Poet unceremoniously grabbed them, eating one after another.
After the Poet had finished eating, Sun Jack spoke again, "All the experiments at that time should have had data collected, right? Can you share the data analysis you collected with me? I need these valuable materials."
"Why do you need those?" the Poet asked with a cold face. As the game chips continuously popped out, he gradually transformed into someone else.
"I need to collect data, I want to see what happened in the past, I need to avoid repetition." Even though his various proposals had been rejected, Sun Jack still hadn't given up. He still wanted to try.
The Poet shook his head and said, "It's pointless, there's no need to repeat the same experiences twice."
"How is it pointless? If you don't tell me, how can you know it will be pointless?" Sun Jack's brow furrowed, the Poet seemed much harsher after removing his chips.
The Poet shook his head. "No, I won't give it to you, it's too late now, because there's no more time."
"Time? What time?"
The Poet raised his right hand, again checking a non-existent watch on his wrist. "Because it's the time I agreed on with Lan Meng."
"What? You know Lan Meng?!"
