Chapter 634 Noah

When he heard his companion's explanation, even the experienced Number 44 was greatly shocked.

"Damn, Mei, what the hell is this niche shit? You can't find another one like this in the whole Metropolis, can you?"

Hearing Number 44's jeering, Cang Yan Saint Fire Master No Hanakada immediately became angry, stood up abruptly, and angrily looked towards Saotome. "Do you even understand what privacy means? Personal privacy!"

Saotome shrugged. "I don't know what privacy is. I only know I'm a hacker tasked with ensuring no one's systems are monitored or controlled."

"But I am a bit surprised that to oppose Poet, space AI would actually help. I have no idea what Sun Jack said to them."

However, upon hearing this, Hilda slightly shook her head, "It wasn't him. It must have been Tapai who struck some deal with them."

"Are you sure?" Number 44 looked up somewhat surprised at Hilda.

With a smile on her face, Hilda nodded slightly, "I don't understand Tapai, but I do understand Sun Jack."

Hearing this, Number 44 looked thoughtfully at the impressive woman before her, focusing her attention on what she had just said.

"I've seen 'Revolutionary Li Jack.' I know what happened between you and Sun Jack. Are you really not planning on going back?"

Hilda shook her head, "He needs to focus on the problems at hand right now. If we Clones go to him, he will be distracted."

As she spoke, she paused slightly as if thinking of something else to add, "Loving someone isn't about what you want, but about considering what they need from their perspective."

"That doesn't mean you had to join the suicide squad, though." Number 44 grabbed a soda from the nearby fridge and took a sip.

"I don't know what you've been watching, but my existence isn't defined by being Li Jack's girlfriend. I'm here because I wanted to help." As Hilda moved her tail slightly, the entire Mechanical Worm's tail also swung around powerfully.

"Suit yourself. I'm just here to find my brother. No idea where that brat has taken his girlfriend now."

While they were talking, Faxis suddenly spoke up, "Stop talking! We've got trouble!"

Everyone in the cabin immediately looked towards the screen. They quickly spotted a giant underground cavity detected 50 miles ahead.

This was the earth's crust. Considering the immense pressure outside, a cavity like this shouldn't exist.

Mei also stopped typing, his voice trembling, "Is this the place we're looking for?"

"Don't know, let's send feedback and then go take a look. Isn't that what the suicide squad is for?"

As Number 44 swiftly operated the controls, the Mechanical Worm's tail detached, diving upwards with the detection logs like a drill, while they moved closer to the distant target.

Though their mission was to scout the rogue AI's stronghold, when they actually faced it, everyone's face was filled with excitement and nervousness, and the atmosphere inside the cabin grew tense.

"Hacker, we're using the rogue AI's machinery. They wouldn't detect us right away, would they?" Mei voiced, his tone uneasy as he addressed Saotome.

Saotome shook his head. "I don't know. Their tech level is higher than ours. All we can do is keep interacting, keep learning, and try to catch up as much as possible, both physically and online."

"The network security team has already made preliminary breakthroughs in decrypting the rogue AI's programming language and shared the information with all hackers. But how long I can hold out is hard to say, even in a completely offline environment."

Amid the tense atmosphere, they eventually reached the edge of the cavity. The Mechanical Worm climbed up and started drilling inside with a miniature probe.

Minutes later, the probe broke through; however, what everyone saw inside surprised them all. There was no machinery production line or any terrifying combat machines but a peaceful ancient forest.

Various plants and animals survived in it. Though the environment wasn't large, each species maintained a significant population.

"What is this place? An underground civilization? Damn!" exclaimed Number 44 in surprise.

However, Hilda instantly realized where they were. "No! This isn't it. This is the ship, Poet's Noah's Ark. He's preserved many species. Clearly, he plans to kill all humans and then use these seeds to repopulate the surface!"

Hearing this, Faxis spoke in a suppressed voice, "To flood the old world and create a new one, this AI—who does he think he is? Does he think he's a god?"

Just as everyone was marveling, Saotome suddenly spoke up, "Retreat! Someone's coming!"

Upon hearing this, Hilda immediately took action, controlling the giant worm to move swiftly towards the surface.

As the vanguard, their mission was now complete. Next, they needed to stay alive and transmit this information and coordinates.

Soon, Noah's Ark's automatic defense systems were activated, with various underground mines swiftly converging towards Hilda.

Each explosion's shockwave, conducted through the rock layers, subjected the Mechanical Worm to pressure and interference.

In these moments, Hilda was fully focused, maneuvering as if controlling her own body, nimbly dodging the enemy's attacks.

For her, the worm was now her new body, capable of precise control without any delay, narrowly escaping attacks and desperately floating upwards.

Just when they thought they had escaped, the entire rock layer suddenly cracked violently, the upper and lower rock layers shifting abruptly, completely severing the Mechanical Worm in two.

In the pitch-black chaos of the underground rock layer, losing the ability to move meant certain doom. Hilda started controlling the tail to reconnect and repair with the head.

But then, the disconnected Mechanical Worm tail suddenly slipped out of her control, turning like a giant snake and tightly coiling around the upper half of the worm, preventing their escape.

In the next second, dense red dots appeared on the detection equipment, signifying they were being surrounded by Poet's mechanical troops.

And then, Poet's face popped up on the screen, examining the few people curiously in the cabin, "Hilda? Interesting. I've always wanted to try this—if I use you people to threaten Sun Jack, do you think he'll surrender?"

With unwavering determination in her eyes, Hilda didn't hesitate and immediately pressed the self-destruct button.
