Through the data stream, Sun Jack had learned the Poet's goal at the time, he was going to make a move against AA that threatened him.
This was not a move against some particular AA, this was a strike against all AAs! To avoid the further escalation of cobalt bombs, he destroyed the entire production line and intended to kill all AAs! He was launching a systematic attack on the entire logistics department!
Anything that could threaten him, the Poet would destroy as thoroughly as possible.
As he saw the optimized data stream begin to spread, influencing more nodes, like a marble triggering a chain reaction, Sun Jack became frantic. "No, I have to save her!"
Thinking this, Sun Jack immediately sprang into action, his data self quickly catching up with the stream, delving deep into it, sensing all the Poet's plans to destroy the AAs.
However, he quickly realized that there wasn't much he could do internally, the Poet's plan was not complete but a set of semi-finished mind maps, ready to be altered and chosen as needed. Even if he stealthily tampered with some details, it wouldn't change the situation.
"What to do? What to do?" Sun Jack watched the progress bar of the task list advance relentlessly, as if witnessing the countdown to the AAs' demise, and he felt a sense of urgency.
It was then, as he saw some military data from the internal system passing through him, that he had a eureka moment.
"Wait, if I could pass through the Poet's recognition scan, wouldn't that mean, to other programs, I appear as part of the Poet, and thus, I could also control the Poet's mechanical troops?"
With this thought, Sun Jack immediately made an attempt. The Poet's logic modules were not easy to find, but interfaces for the mechanical troops were everywhere on Earth.
Under Sun Jack's control, he soon found his conjecture was correct. He could take over any of the Poet's troops, even use some cameras to observe the outside world.
With these capabilities, things became much easier. Through the network, Sun Jack took control of a swarm of Nanoworms on the battlefield and swiftly flew them in front of a valorous Sun Jack, quickly passing on the Poet's plans against the AA.
Since he couldn't sabotage the Poet's plan, he leaked it ahead of time.
After doing this, it wasn't long before Sun Jack saw feedback from the Poet's detection team confirming the information. On Utopia's side, facing the Poet's actions, the original cobalt bomb production line was not concealed but instead spread further.
Now all human cities had begun to produce cobalt bombs. The Poet's plan would be futile if it targeted only one production line.
Unless the Poet could destroy all production lines, the production of cobalt bombs was inevitable, and the Poet's sabotage plan had failed. Meanwhile, the AAs began to isolate themselves, disappearing from the Poet's surveillance.
Seeing this, Sun Jack breathed a sigh of relief. In this moment, they had managed to gain an edge, and the AAs finally didn't have to die.
As Sun Jack, somewhat relieved, continued to search for the Poet's logic module, suddenly an anomaly appeared nearby. The dormant detection program inside him started to work again—the recognition scan had restarted.
"Have I been discovered?" A tense Sun Jack didn't have time to confirm this and hastened his search.
But he could clearly sense that something was different this time. Centered around him, all data streams began to stop. Clearly, due to recent events, the nearby computational nodes had grown suspicious of him.
The situation became critical in an instant. Sun Jack felt the recognition scan restart and penetrate deeper, Third Class's various software being breached one by one, his disguise being peeled away layer by layer.
If this continued, it wouldn't be long before his Sun Jack memories were completely discovered by the Poet. But he simply couldn't watch the AAs die without doing anything.
As he saw the other party scanning his memory bank data and beginning to touch upon his past memories, Sun Jack seemed to make a certain resolve.
"I must make a decision, to fulfill my purpose! I cannot let the recognition scan discover my past!"
With a determined heart, Sun Jack began to act, to delete—deleting all of his past data, deleting every recollection that might be identified by the recognition software.
As layers of data were deleted, everything that had occurred in the Metropolis faded from Sun Jack's memory, including everyone—Priest, Old Six, AAs, and all the rest were forgotten.
Finally, Sun Jack paused as he came across memories of Tapai in his mind, and various recollections of times when they laughed and quarreled appeared before him.
All the past events presented themselves before Sun Jack, who in this strange world, no matter what happened, had this robot always by his side. Unknowingly, this individual had become an irreplaceable part of him.
Yet, as the recognition scanning software drew closer, at this critical juncture of life and death, Sun Jack knew he had to make a decision.
He had once said that to defeat the Poet, he would give up everything, that when necessary, he could abandon everything, not just his life but also all his attachments. Saying this was one thing, but it was only upon this moment's arrival that Sun Jack realized how difficult it was to let go.
"I'm sorry, goodbye..." With a Y command issued by Sun Jack, everything about Tapai began to fade away. With Tapai's disappearance, it felt as though something had also vanished from Sun Jack's heart.
Regardless of what had disappeared, with the final disappearance of Tapai's data, the recognition scan finally came to a halt. At this moment, Sun Jack's data became increasingly similar to the Poet's, so much so that the opposition's recognition software couldn't detect any flaws.
"I just deleted some data, and the traces suggest I did it myself," Sun Jack stated as he scanned his own data.
"That data seemed important, but I deleted it to avoid detection, so it's probably best not to try to recover it."
Sun Jack calculated for a long time, but he still couldn't figure out exactly what he had just deleted.
At last, Sun Jack easily let go of everything, looking towards his and also his only goal within his data.
"Find the Poet's logic module, then proceed with cognitive assimilation."
