Chapter 80: The Call

DigitalHorizons was one of those modern office buildings that seemed to be made entirely of glass and steel. The kind of place where the cleaning staff probably needed a pilot's license to wipe the windows. Read Simmons, the CEO, stood in his corner office, sipping his fourth cup of coffee before 6 AM. With his hair impeccably styled and his sharp business suit, he looked like he had stepped straight out of a Wall Street recruitment ad.

Today, however, Read wasn't thinking about stocks or investments. He was staring at the screen of his laptop with a mix of disbelief and amusement. The analytics team had just sent over the latest user data for their flagship product, the "Infinity Digital Library." The numbers were so high they looked like someone had tried to enter their phone number in the user count column.
