Kaylo Isn't Enough

"Where ya looking!!?" Jetting out of the bushes, Kaylo's sword comes from the hip as he aimed for the neck. The large man looks back at the direction the noise came from and saw a man leaping out of the bushes. Quickly, his head drops toward his horse's ears. His horse starts to move forward and as Kaylo's arm swings, he slashes through nothing but the air.

"Tsk, he dodged it." He flips in mid air and saw the butt of the horse moving outside of his line of sight. Turning his body, he lands perfectly with his sword at his side. Looking at the Tree Sentinel, they were turning around while circling Kaylo. "This tactic...at least that didn't change."

The being rushed toward him with his halberd at the ready. The horse leaps into the air with their weapon raised. Coming down, he attempts to slam the bladed point into Kaylo's chest. BOOM!! There's a loud noise that occurs as if a grenade detonated. As the debris clears, Kaylo's foot planted onto the foe's halberd.

"A risky gamble but it worked!" He boosts off the handle of the pole arm and he swiped his arm back, the pole arm struck him in his ribs. CRACK!! His eyes close from the pain. His body crossed a far distance from the force of the Tree Sentinels attack. He skipped along the ground, collecting dirt on his clothes as he hit the earth.

Finally stopping, he found himself 10 meters away from the Tree Sentinel. "Guh.....mmmmm" He was in immense pain. Attempting to stand on his feet, his muscles contort in reaction to the pain he felt. His right set of ribs felt fractured or broken. There was a bruise marking underneath his skin. If the bladed side of the halberd landed, he would've been cut in two.

"Ooh.....mhm.." He couldn't catch his breath. It was as if it was stolen from him. The more he tried to inhale, the greater the pain felt. The world was black to him. Everything near him and everything far from him was out of sight. Finally, his breath comes back to him. "HAAAAH....." A loud gasp for air comes in. But once he could breathe again a sound he once would've never thought would scare him reached his ears. The sound of a horse's hooves rapidly hitting the ground. "He's coming.....I can't....I can't face him...I gotta run....but I can't out run him..." The sounds of a galloping horse grew closer and closer.

"He's gonna kill me....I can't stay here.....he's gonna kill me....." That's when a life or death gamble came to mine. His hands mold signs symbolizing animals. Painfully, his lungs increase in size as he inhaled. Fire spat out of his mouth, burning the ground they stood on. The horse and man stopped their approach as the fire was lit. Smoke covers the area.

The tree sentinel, glaring at the flames the burn the soil he stood on lifts his weapon and slams it onto the dirt. The wave of air that dispersed upon impact put out the flames and sent the smoke away. But Kaylo was gone.

At the grace of the First Step, he laid against it huffing and puffing in agony. "Hah.....hah....hah...." His forearm was over his eyes. "My ribs..." His sword was dropped. Kaylo positioned his hand on his ribs and felt cracks through the muscles of his abdomen. "Ugmmm..." It hurt to even touch it but he forced himself to do so.

"He broke my ribs....ugh....it hurts.....it hurts..."
