Told a lie

"Really? And what really is my concern if you can forget those memories, Jordan?" Sydney said arrogantly, her voice laced with frustration as she fixed him with a cold stare.

Her eyes, usually filled with warmth, now seemed distant and steely.

She took deliberate steps toward him, her movements slow, as though every inch closer to him was a painful effort.

Her gaze remained unwavering, concentrating on him, as though searching for something—perhaps a sign of remorse, or an apology that was never going to come.

She continued to stare at him, a flicker of emotion crossing her face. It seemed as though the words she was about to utter would break her down, but then, with a deep breath, she steeled herself.

She told herself this was the only way forward. This was the only way to make everything better, to fix the mess that had been their lives.

She wanted Jordan to move on. She needed him to.
