The battlefield was in complete chaos.
GT Goku and GT Vegeta were once again gravely injured. Despite their best efforts as Super Saiyan 4s, they were no match for Broly. Astonishingly, Broly had been holding back the entire fight, staying in his Super Saiyan 2 form without powering up further. Even at this level, he had effortlessly overwhelmed them.
Krillin and Gohan had also suffered heavy injuries at the hands of Marcus. Vados healed both of them immediately, restoring their stamina, but their expressions remained grim.
"Damn it! This guy's too strong. We don't stand a chance against him," Krillin said, his tone serious.
"It feels like he's just toying with us," Gohan added, frustration evident in his voice.
Meanwhile, Trunks, who initially held the upper hand, was now being completely overpowered by Zamasu. With his immortal body, Zamasu grew stronger each time he was injured, using the healing process as nourishment. Though Zamasu's immortality wasn't absolute—destruction energy could erase him—Trunks lacked the power to exploit that weakness.
Every time Zamasu was seriously injured, it would become the nourishment for him to become stronger. Over time, the tide of their battle had turned, and Trunks now found himself at a disadvantage.
Goku and Bardock, meanwhile, continued their battle. It was clear that Bardock wasn't fighting seriously. From start to finish, he seemed more interested in observing how much his son had grown rather than going all out.
Elsewhere, Vegeta was struggling against Hearts. Even with the full power of Super Saiyan Blue, Vegeta was no match for him. Hearts easily held the upper hand.
On another part of the battlefield, Broly maintained a dominant advantage over Saiyan Cumber.
Amid all this chaos, Vados had just finished healing Krillin and Gohan. But even with their injuries healed, both looked anxious.
"Krillin, maybe we should fuse," Gohan suggested. "Even if we can't beat him after fusing, we might be strong enough to turn the tide of the battle. At the very least, we can wear him down."
Krillin nodded in agreement. "You're right, Gohan. It's worth a shot. But if we fuse, what do we call ourselves? Krillinhan?" he joked, trying to lighten the mood.
Gohan wasn't fazed by the name. "I don't care what we're called. If it means protecting Earth, I'd fuse permanently if I had to. This is our home—no one is allowed to destroy it!"
"Alright, let's do this!" Krillin said, determination in his voice.
The two positioned themselves for Fusion, standing on either side of each other. Although they hadn't mastered the Fusion technique yet, they hoped to pull it off.
Just as they prepared to begin, a sudden gust of wind swept past them. The air trembled as a figure appeared between them.
It was Goten.
"Lord Goten?!"
"Goten… It's Goten!"
"He's finally here!"
The sight of Goten filled everyone with excitement and relief. They had been anxiously awaiting his arrival throughout the entire battle.
"Krillin, Gohan, I'm sorry I took so long to arrive," Goten said calmly. "Leave the rest to me."
His gaze shifted to Marcus. This was the opponent he had been monitoring closely throughout his training. The dark, malevolent aura radiating from Marcus was unlike anything else on the battlefield. Goten could sense the energy of pure evil—a clear sign that Marcus was a member of the Demon Race and the mastermind behind this entire conflict.
Marcus, however, showed no fear. Instead, a sinister grin spread across his face as his eyes filled with greed.
From Goten's body, Marcus could feel an unimaginable power—a divine ki unlike anything he had encountered before. If he could absorb that power, he would undoubtedly become the most powerful Demon God in existence. Even his father wouldn't stand a chance against him.
At the same time, Hearts, having just defeated Vegeta, froze when he saw Goten. His pupils shrank as he sensed the divine ki radiating from Goten.
"That aura… It's Master Merno's ki!" Hearts muttered to himself.
Hearts could never forget that divine energy. A long time ago, his master, Angel Merno, had trained him to be his successor. But despite surpassing the power of a God of Destruction, Hearts had never been able to reach Merno's level.
Fueled by his ambitions to overthrow Zeno and the Grand Priest, Merno's defiance had led to the destruction of the 13th Universe. In the aftermath, Hearts was left as the sole survivor, only to be revived recently under mysterious circumstances.
Now, seeing Goten, Hearts began to piece everything together.
'Could it be... Goten is the one Master Merno chose? The one destined to challenge Zeno and the Grand Priest? The one who will liberate mortals from the oppression of the gods?' Hearts thought, his mind racing.
With newfound understanding, Hearts slowly approached Goten.
"Please... tell me... how is my master, Angel Merno?" Hearts asked, his voice trembling. "I can feel his ki within you."
Goten's expression remained calm as he responded, "Hearts, how dare you come to Earth with these vile villains and bring destruction? You're walking straight into your own demise."
"But before this battle, Merno asked me not to kill you if we ever crossed paths. Be grateful—your life was bought at the cost of all his Angel powers and abilities."
Marcus watched the exchange with interest, his focus still locked on Goten's immense divine power.
In the world of Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Hearts had been an antagonist with lofty ambitions. He had sought to liberate mortals from the gods' oppression, but his methods and ideals made him an antagonist figure. Now, standing before Goten, his past ambitions and mistakes seemed to weigh heavily on him.
As Goten prepared to face Marcus and Hearts, the tides of the battle were about to shift dramatically.
