"Goten! Why don't you guide me alone? You don't need to worry about Vegeta."
Goku spoke immediately. Originally, he just wanted to plead for Vegeta, but things had taken a turn for the worse—now, Goten wasn't even willing to teach him.
"Training is something you have to rely on yourself for. You should figure it out on your own."
"In my time, when I was born, you were already dead. I never received any guidance from you, yet I pushed myself step by step to reach this level."
"If I could do it, I think you can too."
Goten glanced at Goku and spoke calmly. In truth, he still held some resentment over that matter. Even though Goku had explained it—that he and the others chose not to be resurrected because they feared Cell's retaliation—Goten couldn't completely let go of the grudge. At the time, they were no match for Cell, but that didn't mean they would remain weak forever.
That resentment didn't just disappear.
Moreover, training others to become stronger was too much of a hassle.
Back then, he guided Krillin and Trunks because they were his friends. But Goku and Vegeta? That was different. Their arrogant attitude made Goten dislike them even more.
"This..."
"Alright."
"If that's the case, let's forget about it."
Goku sighed and nodded. Goten had reached his level through his own efforts. He and Vegeta would just have to do the same. Seeing Goten's power and transformations was inspiring—if Goten could break through to higher levels, then so could they.
"Everyone, I have other things to do, so I'll be leaving now."
Goten glanced at Goku and the others. To be honest, aside from Chi-Chi, whom he found more tolerable, he didn't care much for the others. Without another word, his body flickered, and he vanished from Mount Paozu.
When he reappeared, he was in West City.
Standing there, an empty feeling crept into his heart. Though he was seeing Goku and Chi-Chi, his parents, it never felt like his timeline. It didn't feel like home.
"Sigh... how do I get back now?"
Inside a tavern, Goten sat in silence, lost in thought. Despite possessing power over the entire dimensional universe, he still couldn't return to his own timeline. He couldn't see the people he wanted to see the most.
That feeling was unbearable.
More importantly, he had no idea what had happened to his family and friends. Had they survived the dimensional explosion?
Time passed as he sat there for hours. Ever since arriving in this world, he had been in a constant state of tension. Moments like this, where he could just sit and drink to pass the time, were rare.
Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly sensed an incredibly familiar energy.
This energy was exactly like an Angel's.
"An Angel's ki...?"
"Why would an Angel be on such a remote planet like Earth?"
"And more importantly... this isn't Whis or Vados."
Goten was surprised. If an Angel came looking for him, it should have been Whis from Universe 7. But this ki was different. It was stronger than the Angels of the twelve universes.
Yet, it wasn't Merno's energy either.
"Looks like this one's here for me. If that's the case, I'll wait."
Goten knew he was the only reason an Angel would come to Earth. While Goku and Vegeta were strong, they weren't strong enough to draw an Angel's attention.
As he focused on the presence, the tavern door swung open.
A stunning figure stepped inside.
Her attire was entirely different from that of traditional Angels. She wore a black bodysuit under a matching uniform, her hand gripping an Angel staff. Her face was exquisitely beautiful, and her slender figure surpassed even Angels like Vados and Marcarita.
More importantly, her cold demeanor set her apart from the others. Her presence carried an aura of absolute distance, like an ice-cold beauty who rejected the world.
Yet, she made no effort to hide her gaze as she looked directly at Goten.
This confirmed his suspicions. This Angel had come for him.
Da da da...
The sound of high heels tapping against the floor echoed as she walked straight toward Goten.
"Hey, mind if I sit here?" she asked, her voice carrying a warm smile.
Her friendly tone clashed with the icy aura she exuded.
"Suit yourself," Goten replied indifferently. "But tell me—who are you? What's your purpose in coming to see me?"
He knew she was here for him. There was no need to dance around the subject.
"Hmm?"
The Angel was momentarily surprised but quickly regained her composure. She sat down across from him, her expression unreadable.
"Mr. Goten, my name is Twist. I am an Angel. You're right—I came here specifically for you. But I was sent by someone."
Her voice was gentle, no different from that of other Angels. All of them carried an air of refinement.
"I see."
"But I'm more interested in the one who sent you. If I'm not mistaken, you don't serve Zeno or the Grand Priest. So tell me—who's behind you? And what's their reason for looking for me?"
Goten's tone remained calm. Whoever was behind her must have an important reason for seeking him out.
And truthfully, he was curious.
After all, he had nothing better to do since he couldn't return to his own universe
