MORNIGNGS

MORNINGS

I went back to the bedroom for a long woolen coat. When I get back, he was dressed up and back to his normal austere, charming self. I smile at him and he returns the smile his lips curving. I walk to him and hug him. I was happy, overwhelmed with emotions and I didn't know how to express them. He engulfed me in his arms and returns the affection, I felt contented at peace in this moment

Letting go we walk to the door. I open it for him and he sat on the arm chair putting on his black shoes. I close the door and we walk hand in hand to the lift. The place was silent; this was the peace before the morning chaos.

The doors close and we start descending. Looking at our reflection in inside walls of the lift, I could feel his eyes on me. We were happy, I was elated; he hadn't left my hand and I was feeling giddy inside like a teenage.

"Want to christen this elevator?"

"Are you a kid?"
