Sigurd's sudden visit

"What?" a feminine voice asked without glancing at the maid, continuing to drink her morning tea.

"It seems something had happened to the Emperor, His Majesty's royal valet is guarding the door and when the maids tried to enter the room he prevented them." Adelheid's personal maid reported the matter to her.

Adelheid's eyes finally moved, and halted on her personal maid, who had her usual amber dress uniform, its hem was adorned in the design of falling petals, the maid's single braided hair was placed over her right shoulder.

"I guess I should give my morning greeting to His Majesty." With that said she stood up to go to the Emperor room, her personal maid cleaned the table before following her Lady.

Ruprecht and his teacher, at last left him alone when he narrated the incident, of course, skipping some parts like how he was in utter despair after being stabbed in the heart and had almost crossed the bridge of afterlife.

"Soul puppets didn't appear in the novel at this point of time, however, last night that thing was surely a soul puppet. Is this happening early because of my interruption, no-how can that be? It's been only 2 days if I don't include today." Dew, pacing back and forth and also sometimes completing circles uttered.

His mind was occupied with the thoughts of the event that has happened till now and that had occurred in the novel 'Doom of Eldoria Empire'.

"Though, the most surprising thing is magical powers, Eberhardt had been born without any mana so he was not able to use the magical powers." Dew recalled the paragraph of the novel that had stated it.

'Eberhardt shouted while throwing the books placed at his desk, "What is the use of these things if I'm not ever going to wield magic??, I don't even have any mana for that? Even that bitch has mana but not me!! WHY??

"Wait, in the novel they had never mentioned about Eberhardt having no mana at birth, because Eberhardt had appeared in the novel at the age of 21. Wasn't there a brief paragraph about how Eberhardt threw books and shouted that he didn't have any mana at the age of 13?" Dew, who was racking his brain to solve the mystery about his magic, heard a knock on the door.

He looked towards the door, pondering who might have come after he had told Ruprecht to inform everyone to not disturb him.

"Come in." He ordered in his neutral tone.

"Greeting to the sun of the Empire, Your Majesty." Sigurd's deep and low voice sounded in Dew's ear like thunder.

Sigurd noticed the Emperor, who was still wearing his loose-fitting nightwear that was made up of soft linen, he stared at the collarbone of Dew that was clearly visible as the robes were loose so it was showing Dew's neck and collarbone area.

Dew, who followed Sigurd's gaze, observed that the Duke had been staring at him for a while now.

"Why did the Duke come here, at this time?" Dew turned around, feeling uncomfortable after being stared, he had also reached to pick his outer golden robes to wear, however he felt a firm hand grazing just pass his hand and took the golden robes.

"As an offender who has disturbed the Emperor at this time and also a servant of Your Majesty I should assist and state the reason for my sudden appearance." Sigurd said shamelessly with a smile plastered on his face.

"No, no need for that, just state your reason for coming here and if it is not something important I shall punish you." Dew, annoyed by the Duke, took his white shawl which folded and placed just beside the outer robes and wrapped it around his shoulder, covering his neck and collarbone completely.

Sigurd's expression appeared to be disheartened by the Emperor's cold sentence and icy behavior, so he stated the reason for his sudden visit, "There seems to be a man of Vespera empire roaming in the capital for past few weeks and when we finally caught that man he ended his life without slipping any information to us."

"....When did this man died?" Dew, pensively thinking about something, asked.

"Last night." Sigurd, not missing a single expression on the Emperor's face, replied.

'What, why would everything have to happen on that damn last night!? Was it a cursed night?' Dew shouted internally, without showing it on his face.

"Anything else?" He asked, already in a hurry to get rid of the Duke.

"Yes." Sigurd replied again with that shameless smile.

"What?" 'If you had more then why were you waiting for me to ask, you bastard!' Dew, whose day had already become bad after watching Sigurd's face, patiently asked him.

"Your Majesty seems to have awakened your magical powers, it appears last night assassin attack was quite fortunate." The Duke of Wurttemberg said as his sharp eyes narrowed and locked on Dew's sword.
