About a week or so into the game...
I was able not only to learn a better way to use magic but also to better understand how to manipulate space and use dimensional magic. Grandpa Min also said that I have a good capacity for learning and training even in our race.
I also stopped at times and returned to some small hunting grounds or dungeons in the main world to avoid going too long without leveling up. Plus, I enjoyed the sensation of hunting and fighting, and with that, I ended up reaching level 30, which wasn't too bad.
"Grandpa, I'm here."
I entered with a smile on my face and got closer to him during these days when he was studying with me.
"Well, for now, our training is over. Here is your final reward."
He spoke and handed me a book while sending a light to me.
[Your wisdom stat increased by 8 points (16 points due to the Gladiator of Gtark title)]
[Your intelligence stat increased by 6 points (12 points due to the Gladiator of Gtark title)]
[You received the Skill book: spatial bomb. Do you want to learn it?]
I clicked yes.
And I went to see the skill description.
--------------------------------
Skill: Spatial Bomb
Rank: Unique
Type: Active
Effect:
- Compresses space in selected areas, which, when they explode, will generate high spatial magic damage. Due to being a spatial distortion, it is not easy to locate.
- The installed bombs can explode instantly, or you can set a time for them to explode (if you set a time and want to detonate them, it is possible by stimulating with your mana).
Description: Where did this bomb come from?
--------------------------------
"Thank you, Grandpa."
"Of course, child, if you need anything, you can talk to me."
"Okay."
I agreed and left the town hall...
I had already met the Elder of the library, Elder Dwan, where I borrowed and studied books.
And now I decided to look for Henry and the Elder at the barracks.
.
.
Arriving in front of the barracks, I was looking for the entrance when I heard my name being shouted.
"Alex?"
I looked back, and indeed it was Henry, this time carrying a large sword on his back.
"Henry, it's been a while since we last met."
"Yes, came to train?"
"Uh-huh, can you take me to the Elder?"
"Sure."
He spoke with a smile on his face and accompanied me inside.
Meanwhile, we talked about the day's experiences and spatial and dimensional magic since he certainly has more experience than I do, and I thought it was a good opportunity.
.
Inside a kind of arena or similar, I saw several members of our race training with different weapons: spears, axes, daggers, swords, sabers, scimitars, and above one, there was another member who seemed to be overseeing. He transmitted an aura weaker than the Great Elder, but still, his aura was powerful. He had large muscles and carried a large sword on his back.
"That is Elder Dwan."
He also whispered in my ear.
"He is also my master."
"Oh..."
"Come, I'll introduce you."
.
I followed him, and we approached the Elder.
He looked at me with a calm, cold, and judging gaze.
And after a moment, this gaze disappeared and became more normal and slightly kind.
"Is this the new member?"
"Yes, Elder, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"Alex, right? That guy from the library talked about you to me. He said you were quite intelligent... and"
He looked at my sword.
"Do you want to train here?"
"Yes, I would like to receive the race manual and train."
"Uh, do you already have one?"
"I do."
"Hmm, alright, but if you really want to, you'll have to pass a challenge, training here personally with me in high-level training for 3 days straight. Can you handle it?"
I noticed that Henry became tense and was about to say something, but Elder Dwan gave him a look, and he stopped.
"So, young one, do you accept?"
-----------------------------------------
Mission: Hard Training
Objective: Survive the training of your race's Elder Dwan.
Reward: Improvement of your manual combined with the Mitigoth race manual (sword version).
Description: Good luck.
-----------------------------
'Oh... what a name and description, even the objective is to survive.'
"I accept!"
"Good, before we proceed, go to the center and use your current one."
I obeyed him and drew my sword. In front of me, Henry stood calmly and drew his large sword, which he held with both hands.
"Alex, show me your best."
"Okay."
I ran and quickly approached him.
"Impact."
The power gathered at the tip of my sword, but now, coming from my mana, it had a slightly golden hue at the tip.
He raised and defended the sword, but was pushed back a bit.
"Tsk... Alex, you have strength..., good move too."
"Thank you."
My stats are well distributed, and I have quite a few points due to the title.
I didn't stop to let him think and followed with the next skill.
"Circle of cuts."
My sword moved at high speed and began to cause numerous cuts.
Henry was surprised, especially by the speed. I have always had a high speed stat since it is one of my favorites, which influenced this skill to become even faster.
He moved the sword quickly and used its large size to try to defend more precisely, and he also increased his speed. He has a higher stat than mine, so clearly, he can keep up even with the skill, but at least I managed to catch him by surprise and cause some minor cuts.
The skill ended, and I continued with some quicker attacks, but when I was about to continue, I heard Elder Dwan's voice.
"I have an idea now."
"Let's start training. Prepare yourself."
.
And so began 3 truly torturous days...
