Chapter 279: Black and White Xuanshan (Conclusion)

"Han Fei, this time, I'll make sure you die without a grave!" Ji Wuye sat at a bronze table at a crossroads about a hundred meters west of Zilan Xuan. Holding a glass goblet, he wore a smug and arrogant smile as he gazed in the direction of Zilan Xuan.

For Ji Wuye, Han Fei and Zilan Xuan were thorns in his side. Before Han Fei returned to Korea and New Zheng City, Ji Wuye had considered himself the undisputed ruler of the city, with even the royal nobles like Lord Longquan and Lord Anping forced to bow to his authority.

The Ghost Army's embezzlement case was a multi-faceted plan for Ji Wuye. Not only could he pocket ten thousand military salaries, but he could also further reduce Zhang Kaidi's influence in the court, expanding his own power in the process.

But then Han Fei appeared, and not only did he ruin all of Ji Wuye's plans, but he also inflicted heavy losses on Nightfall, the organization Ji Wuye controlled. Ji Wuye placed the blame for Blood-Clad Marquis's death squarely on Han Fei.

Nightfall's Four Devils were crucial to Ji Wuye's power, and the Blood-Clad Marquis was the most important among them, commanding an army of ten thousand. Military power was the foundation of Ji Wuye's strength. As long as he held military command, wealth and influence were his for the taking. Despite his current situation, Ji Wuye had once been a careful and strategic figure, climbing step by step to the position of Great General. Although his backers played a significant role, Ji Wuye still had some skills of his own.

He was known as Korea's strongest general in a century, a title that, while limited to Korea, was still impressive.

However, with the death of Blood-Clad Marquis, Ji Wuye's hold on military power became threatened by Han Yu. Ji Wuye despised Han Yu, but he hated Han Fei even more. In Ji Wuye's mind, without Han Fei, Tianze would still be in prison, and Blood-Clad Marquis would still be alive.

**Bang!**

As Ji Wuye contemplated how to deal with Han Fei and dismantle Zilan Xuan, a loud crash suddenly echoed in the distance. A figure descended from the sky, landing squarely in the middle of the street, about thirty meters from Ji Wuye. The figure's identity, along with the weapon in his hand, became immediately clear to Ji Wuye.

"Isn't this the illustrious General Ji, enjoying some moonlit wine?" The figure was none other than Daniel, who had leaped over from Zilan Xuan.

"Protect the General!" As Daniel spoke, the Korean soldiers stationed around Ji Wuye sprang into action, forming a protective ring around him. Simultaneously, soldiers from other intersections rushed in—some to support the encirclement of Daniel, while others focused on safeguarding Ji Wuye.

On the rooftops, numerous black-clad figures darted back and forth, while Korean soldiers with crossbows also positioned themselves on the rooftops, aiming at Daniel.

"No wonder Wei Zhuang couldn't assassinate him—this lineup," Daniel mused as he surveyed the scene. He noted the soldiers, the members of Bai Niao, and the heavily guarded Ji Wuye, a faint smile playing on his lips.

"Mo Ya was smarter this time," Daniel thought. If Mo Ya had appeared now, Daniel would have killed him without hesitation. While he pitied Mo Ya's situation, his pity had its limits.

"It's you! Who the hell are you?" Ji Wuye, sensing victory was within his grasp, did not immediately order an attack. He wanted answers first.

"I'm the one who will kill you," Daniel responded calmly.

"You're courting death! Kill him!" Ji Wuye, enraged by Daniel's words, signaled his men to attack. But before the archers could act, Daniel made his move. With a sweeping motion, he unleashed two invisible sword energies with the Black and White Xuanshan, instantly decimating the rooftop archers and Bai Niao members. The powerful sword energy even tore apart the rooftops.

"Kill!"

Undeterred by the sight of their comrades falling, the Korean soldiers surrounding Daniel charged, thrusting their long spears toward him.

The battlefield differed greatly from the duels of the martial world. Battlefield combat relied on military formations, which could overwhelm even the most skilled martial artists. Even a master like Gai Nie had barely survived an encounter with three hundred Tiger-Wolf Cavalry, despite his formidable skills and training.

For these soldiers, their initial attack was a feint; the real danger came from the outer ring of archers. Though they lacked siege weapons, Daniel was more than capable of handling them. His skills far exceeded what they could throw at him. With the Black and White Xuanshan in hand, Daniel charged into the fray, cutting down the soldiers as if they were paper.

Martial artists often struggled against armies due to the sheer numbers and the protective armor soldiers wore. Even for experts like Gai Nie and Wei Zhuang, it took significant effort and energy to cut through armor and defeat trained soldiers.

However, Daniel faced no such difficulties. Whether by cutting down soldiers or evading hidden attacks from Bai Niao members, he methodically eliminated all threats.

"I told you I'd kill you. Do you think you can escape tonight?" With all the soldiers dispatched, Daniel slowly advanced toward Ji Wuye, who was still heavily guarded. The Black and White Xuanshan scraped along the stone pavement, sending sparks flying.

"Attack! Kill him!" Ji Wuye, now sweating with fear, gripped his battle knife tighter and shouted for his remaining troops to stop Daniel. Meanwhile, one of his subordinates fired a distress flare into the sky, signaling for reinforcements. As Ji Wuye prepared to flee, he realized he was cornered.

"You're not going anywhere," Daniel said, noting the flare in the sky and sensing Ji Wuye's intent to escape. This time, Daniel would not hold back. Crossing his swords, he unleashed a cross-shaped sword energy that swept through the soldiers in front of him, scattering them like leaves in the wind.

"And where do you think you're going now?" Daniel asked, pointing his white sword at Ji Wuye, his cold smile unnerving.

At that moment, a red figure appeared behind Daniel, a short sword glowing blue in his hand, poised to strike at the back of Daniel's neck.

**Thud.**

Before the blade could reach its target, the red figure felt a sharp pain in his chest. Looking down, he saw a black sword piercing through him.

"Bai Niao's expert, I presume," Daniel remarked as he turned to face the figure. The attacker was a delicate, almost feminine-looking youth clad in dark red armor with red feathers adorning his arms.

"Bai Niao members seem to have a thing for feathers," Daniel mused aloud, recalling the black feathers of Mo Ya and the white feathers of Bai Feng.

Daniel did not recognize this youth, but it didn't matter. After skewering him with a sword, Daniel dismissed the figure's terrified, anguished expression and casually flung his body aside.

This was Hong Xiao, a formidable Bai Niao member whose skills were second only to Mo Ya's. However, his ruthless and toxic nature made him unpopular, even among his peers. Mo Ya particularly disliked Hong Xiao, which was why Bai Feng, rather than Hong Xiao, had been chosen as Mo Ya's second-in-command.

Bai Niao was divided into male and female groups, with Mo Ya leading the men and Ying Ge leading the women. Mo Ya and Ying Ge harbored feelings for each other, but given their positions within Bai Niao, they kept their relationship strictly professional.

"More of Bai Niao's experts are showing up?" After Hong Xiao's death, several more figures appeared and launched coordinated attacks on Daniel. Originally, they had planned to attack simultaneously, but Hong Xiao had rushed in, ruining their strategy.

Hong Xiao had hoped that by killing Daniel, he would gain Ji Wuye's favor and potentially replace Mo Ya as the leader of Bai Niao's male group. Instead, his ambition had cost him his life.

Within moments, the remaining Bai Niao members were cut down, their bodies lying in pools of blood.

"Now, it's your turn, General Ji Wuye." With the last of his opponents defeated, Daniel leaped forward, landing in front of the fleeing Ji Wuye. With a few swift sword strikes, he dispatched Ji Wuye's remaining guards, leaving the general defenseless.

Cornered and terrified, Ji Wuye raised his eight-foot-long battle knife, swinging it desperately at Daniel.

**Slash.**

Daniel responded by slicing off Ji Wuye's arm, armor and all. Ji Wuye's reputation as a difficult opponent stemmed not just from his powerful connections and army but also from his formidable physical conditioning and iron armor, which made him nearly invincible in battle.

However, to Daniel, Ji Wuye's iron armor was no more than paper. A single slice was all it took.

"You can't kill me! If you do, they won't let you go!" With Daniel's white sword poised to strike him down, Ji Wuye, in a panic, blurted out, hoping to save his life.

"They? You mean the Net Trap?" Daniel paused, his sword stopping just before it severed Ji Wuye's throat. Despite this, the chilling cold of the blade made Ji Wuye tremble uncontrollably.

"You two, have you seen enough? Why don't you come out?" Daniel called out. At his words, Mo Ya and Bai Feng appeared from the shadows, landing five meters behind Ji Wuye.

"Mo Ya, how dare you betray me!" Ji Wuye roared, his fear momentarily replaced by fury as he saw Mo Ya and Bai Feng.

"General, you must be joking. In your current state, you hardly have the standing to accuse me of betrayal," Mo Ya replied, his expression as cold as ever.

"You—" Ji Wuye started to speak, but pain shot through his body as his left arm was severed.

"Would you like to finish him off?" Daniel asked, his gaze fixed on Mo Ya and Bai Feng.

"If that's the case, thank you, sir. I'll be the one to send the General off on his final journey." No sooner had Mo Ya finished speaking than he moved like a ghost, appearing in front of Ji Wuye. A short sword slipped from his wrist, and in one swift motion, Mo Ya drove it through Ji Wuye's throat. Blood sprayed out, painting the street red.

Ji Wuye, in his final moments, couldn't believe what had just happened. His eyes were wide with rage and disbelief as he tried to speak, but all that came out was a gurgle as blood filled his throat. Moments later, he collapsed, lifeless, on the cold pavement.

Ji Wuye's ambitions had been immense. He had even coveted the Heshibi, sending Ying Ge to gather intelligence on it. However, with his death, all his plans came to a sudden halt.

"You're free now. Take me to the General's treasure vault," Daniel said, turning to Mo Ya and Bai Feng.

"Please follow us." Shaken by what they had just witnessed, Mo Ya and Bai Feng quickly composed themselves and led Daniel to the vault within the General's mansion.

"This is quite the treasure trove," Daniel remarked, surveying the wealth amassed in the vault. It was even more extravagant than what he had found in Jade Tiger's mansion.

"How do you plan to transport all of this?" Mo Ya asked, hearing the commotion outside growing louder. The soldiers had evidently discovered Ji Wuye's death and were now on high alert.

"This will be simple," Daniel replied with a smile. He raised his hand, and a massive cloth appeared out of thin air, large enough to cover the entire vault. As the cloth descended, it began to shrink, and in seconds, the vault's contents had disappeared.

Mo Ya and Bai Feng watched in stunned silence, their minds struggling to comprehend what they had just seen.

"Let's go. I assume the General had more than just gold and jewels? Where's the food storage?"

"This way."

Stunned by Daniel's miraculous display, Mo Ya and Bai Feng silently led the way. They watched as Daniel systematically emptied every warehouse, taking everything of value from Ji Wuye's mansion. In no time, the once-opulent estate was stripped bare, left as empty as a hollow shell.
