Chapter 309: Kizaru (Part 2)

Sengoku's enraged roar erupted from the small Den Den Mushi on Kizaru's left wrist, so loud that it echoed across the entire plaza on Island One, reaching everyone nearby. Accompanying the roar was a loud crash, likely the sound of another desk meeting its end under Sengoku's fury.

As Sengoku's roar filled the air, Daniel Davis's sword paused on the neck of another Celestial Dragon, with trickles of blood seeping from the blade. The Celestial Dragon seemed oblivious to the pain, his expression remaining as blank as before.

"You don't have to shout; I can hear you just fine." Daniel Davis withdrew his sword slowly as he spoke, sounding almost leisurely. In truth, Sengoku's outburst had startled him; he hadn't expected Sengoku to be so furious.

"Is someone broadcasting this with an Image Den Den Mushi?" Daniel Davis mused. The only thing that could have made Sengoku this angry was if he had seen the Celestial Dragon's death in real-time.

"I agree to your demands. Now, let someone tend to Saint Charlos's injuries," Sengoku's restrained voice followed, clearly shaken by Daniel Davis's actions.

"Injuries, huh? Is that really necessary?" Daniel Davis responded as his sword moved again, severing the right arms of two more Celestial Dragons, one of whom was none other than Saint Shalria.

"Enough! I've already agreed to your terms!" Sengoku's furious shout came again.

"But the items haven't been delivered to me yet. I've got time to kill, so why not keep busy?" Daniel Davis said as he stomped on Saint Charlos's head.

"The air you Celestial Dragons breathe is supposed to be superior. How does it feel now? A little fresher?" he mocked, pressing his foot down on Saint Charlos's mouth.

"Enough! What will it take for you to stop?" Sengoku's voice, previously full of rage, had now become eerily calm, perhaps a sign of how close he was to his breaking point.

"Stop, huh? Let me think. If one of the three Admirals or Fleet Admiral Sengoku were to commit suicide, I'd release them immediately. After all, the Celestial Dragons are the descendants of the creators, right? Surely such a sacrifice isn't too much to ask? Actually, I won't be picky—let Admiral Kizaru here take his own life. Trading one admiral for the lives of four descendants of the creators? Sengoku, that's a bargain if you ask me." Daniel Davis proposed, having thought of the idea on the spot.

"Impossible." Sengoku rejected the demand without a moment's hesitation. The idea of trading a Celestial Dragon's life for that of an admiral was absurd.

"Don't be so absolute," Daniel Davis chuckled, pointing the tip of his sword at Saint Rosward. "How about this: just one admiral, and you can all go home safely."

"You filthy lowlifes, I order you to kill yourselves immediately!" Saint Rosward screamed at Kizaru.

This command made Kizaru's gaze turn icy cold, and for a moment, his normally indifferent expression was filled with genuine menace.

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku, I don't think you can make this decision. Maybe you should consult your superiors—the Five Elders. They might be more inclined to agree."

"Damn it, who is this guy?" In the Holy Land of Mariejois on the Red Line, the Five Elders sat in a luxurious meeting room, each occupying a corner. One of them angrily struck the floor with his cane.

The brazen attack on the Celestial Dragons had not only enraged the Navy's higher-ups like Sengoku but had also provoked the Five Elders. Such a blatant assault on the Celestial Dragons hadn't happened in years, and no one had ever dared to humiliate them so openly, not even Rocks in his time.

"Should we agree to his terms and save them first?" one of the Five Elders suggested, completely unconcerned with the idea of sacrificing an admiral for the lives of the Celestial Dragons.

"The problem is, will he release them if we do?" another Elder voiced concern. He wasn't worried about the admiral's life but feared that if the admiral died and the Celestial Dragons were not freed, it would be even more humiliating.

"Make sure they prepare the items quickly. What about CP0?" the third Elder asked.

"They're already in action. No matter who he is, he must pay a hefty price. No one can challenge the World Government." As he spoke, the eyes of the Five Elders grew cold. The order that the World Government had spent years establishing could not be allowed to crumble here.

This was precisely why Daniel Davis treated the Celestial Dragons the way he did. His actions were meant to show everyone that the Celestial Dragons were not invincible. Despite being called the descendants of the creators, they could be killed, and they would beg for their lives just like anyone else, often with even more pathetic results.

Once the Celestial Dragons were toppled from their pedestal, everything else would fall into place. It was similar to the collapse of rituals and music in the world of Qin, which, depending on one's perspective, could be seen as either a disaster or a blessing.

Before the collapse of these rituals, the nobility had also been held in the highest regard. Even on the battlefield, soldiers would hesitate to attack them. In many ways, the nobility was similar to the Celestial Dragons, though the Celestial Dragons were even more extreme.

In fact, many of the nobles in the world of One Piece were just weaker versions of the Celestial Dragons, like the nobles in the Goa Kingdom, where Luffy, Ace, and Sabo were born. The atrocities committed by those nobles were hardly different from those of the Celestial Dragons.

What Daniel Davis wanted was to bring about a similar collapse in the world of One Piece, to create a world where, as the saying goes, "kings and nobles are born no different from anyone else."

But the Five Elders would stop at nothing to prevent that from happening. They would crush any such attempt at all costs.

"You're truly worthless, aren't you? Some Celestial Dragon you are. No one listens to you, they won't kneel, and they won't kill themselves. You're a disgrace to the Celestial Dragons."

As Daniel Davis continued to humiliate Saint Rosward, the Celestial Dragon fired his gun at the surrounding Navy in frustration. Ironically, Saint Rosward's anger was now directed more at the Navy than at Daniel Davis.

"I hope this guy doesn't die," Daniel Davis thought as he glanced at the unconscious Saint Charlos. All three members of Saint Charlos's family were so absurd that Daniel Davis didn't want to kill them off just yet. Otherwise, he wouldn't have targeted the other two Celestial Dragons first.

There's an old saying that goes, "I fear not a god-like opponent, but a pig-like teammate." To Daniel Davis, Saint Charlos and his family were exactly that—pig teammates for the World Government and the Navy.

If they survived, they would undoubtedly cause more trouble for the Navy, and killing such valuable "teammates" now would be a waste. People like them were perfect for humiliating the Navy further.

"If only I had Thanos's power, I wouldn't have to go through all this trouble. I could just march up to the Red Line and wipe out the World Government—Im, the Five Elders, Sengoku, Garp, all of them."

As Saint Rosward continued to hurl insults and bullets at the Navy, the soldiers grew increasingly furious. But because he was a Celestial Dragon, they had no choice but to swallow their anger.

"Admiral Kizaru, since you won't kneel or kill yourselves, how about putting on these Seastone handcuffs? That shouldn't be a problem, right?" Daniel Davis said as he tossed a pair of Seastone handcuffs to Kizaru. He then pointed his sword at the neck of the nameless Celestial Dragon.

"Before, I might have been joking, but not this time. Put on the Seastone handcuffs, or I'll kill him." Daniel Davis's threat was clear.

Kizaru, with his Glint-Glint Fruit powers, would be incredibly troublesome if he got serious. There was no doubt that Kizaru was dead serious now. The Celestial Dragons had been killed, and both the Navy and the World Government had been threatened. If Daniel Davis, the culprit, managed to escape, the Navy and the World Government would become a laughingstock.

"Alright." Faced with such a blatant threat, Kizaru had no choice but to reluctantly cuff his hands with the Seastone handcuffs, a sight that infuriated the surrounding Navy even more.

Daniel Davis's actions today had not only humiliated the World Government and the Celestial Dragons but also the Navy.

"Oh, by the way, here's the body back." Daniel Davis said as he kicked the headless body of the previously killed Celestial Dragon, along with the head, toward the Navy. The soldiers scrambled to retrieve the corpse and its head.

"He looks like he's about to die. It seems you'll be getting a second corpse soon," Daniel Davis remarked casually as he glanced at Saint Charlos's failing body.

"The items you requested have arrived." Soon, a Vice Admiral appeared, carrying two boxes. Gathering the items Daniel Davis had demanded wasn't too difficult for either the Navy or the World Government.

"Ancient Zoans, huh? I guess you weren't willing to part with Mythical Zoans." Daniel Davis wasn

't too disappointed. Ancient Zoans were rare and powerful enough for his purposes.

"Now, release the Celestial Dragons as promised!" Sengoku's voice demanded from the small Den Den Mushi.

"Don't be so impatient," Daniel Davis said with a slight smile. "First, let me verify the authenticity of the items."

With that, he opened the box containing the money, casually counted through the bills, and then did the same with the Devil Fruits.

"Now, where's the technique for giving inanimate objects Devil Fruits?" Daniel Davis asked after closing the boxes.

"It's in the second box. You can take a look," the Vice Admiral replied, his tone filled with repressed anger.

"Good, good," Daniel Davis murmured as he quickly scanned the documents and found them to be in order.

"Alright, the items are as promised. Now, for the final step," Daniel Davis said as he suddenly thrust his sword into Saint Charlos's heart, the movement too fast for anyone to react.

The plaza fell silent as everyone watched in shock as Saint Charlos, the Celestial Dragon who had endured so much, finally met his end. Daniel Davis had no intention of keeping any of the Celestial Dragons alive.

"Alright, I've released them all. Enjoy your corpses." Daniel Davis said mockingly as he collected the boxes and prepared to leave.

"After him! Don't let him escape!" the Vice Admiral shouted as the Navy, finally free from their restraints, rushed to capture Daniel Davis.

But Daniel Davis was already gone. The next moment, he was on his ship, which had been waiting nearby, and quickly sailed away, leaving behind the chaos he had created.

In the days that followed, news of Daniel Davis's actions spread like wildfire across the world, shaking the foundations of the World Government and the Navy. The death of the Celestial Dragons and the humiliation of the Navy were events that would be remembered for years to come.
