Seeing Julianne's shocked eyes, Leila knew she probably didn't expect her to guess the excuse she was about to make.

The old Leila would have fallen for it as she was deprived of love, but not the current her.

"Then I will tell you, dear little STEP-sister, that since you are old enough to take revenge on someone and taunt their weaknesses, you should be smart enough to realize that you will get punished the other way. I wasn't born to take the blame for you, okay?"

Julianne cowered under her gaze before nodding rapidly, her voice hoarse. "I-I will take note."

"You'd better do so, or next time I won't be so nice." With that warning in the air, Leila bypassed Julianne and headed for her room.
