Dream Space
Orochimaru quickly performed hand signs. "Summoning Jutsu!" Bang!
The massive form of Manda emerged.
"Susanoo!" With a surge of ocular power, Yamaki summoned a colossal chakra construct.
Skeleton, muscle, armour!
Boom! The intense chakra fluctuations filled the space.
Yamaki's Susanoo pulled out the Yasaka Magatama and threw it.
Manda's enormous body couldn't dodge in time.
Roar! With a deep growl, Manda left behind a layer of shed skin.
"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"
A fierce wind erupted from Orochimaru's mouth, whipping up dust and debris.
The visibility became severely reduced.
Yamaki waited inside Susanoo for an opportunity.
Bang! With the sound of earth and stone shattering, Manda leapt out from behind Yamaki, and Orochimaru appeared to the side!
"Hidden Shadow Snake Hands!"
Orochimaru pressed his hands to the ground, releasing a swarm of venomous snakes.
Yamaki, taking Manda's head-on headbutt, quickly deactivated Susanoo and pressed his hand onto Manda's head.
"Contract Seal, Release!"
Bang! In a vast cloud of smoke, Manda was forcibly sent back.
Orochimaru formed hand seals.
"Yamata no Jutsu!"
Slash! Slash! Slash!
With the sound of flesh tearing, enormous white serpent heads emerged, lunging at Yamaki.
Enduring the massive chakra consumption, Yamaki reactivated Susanoo, drawing out the gigantic katana from its sheath.
Clang! Clang! The sharp blade sliced off three heads.
But it was futile; the Yamata no Orochi's infinite regeneration caused the head to regrow continually.
Yamaki was quickly entangled.
...
The dream space shattered and spun, and Yamaki opened his eyes, returning to reality.
I failed again.
Is Orochimaru really this strong!?
After sending many subjects and hypotheses to Orochimaru, his name appeared in Yamaki's dream training. Initially, Yamaki had underestimated Orochimaru's combat abilities, considering his strengths lay more in scientific research.
However, Yamaki lost more often than not in their battles.
He either fell to the infinite regeneration of the Yamata no Orochi, the beatings from the reanimated First and Second Hokage, or Orochimaru's bizarre body modifications and snake attacks.
Even in illusions, Yamaki didn't fare well. While Orochimaru couldn't resist Itachi's genjutsu due to Itachi's mastery, Yamaki could only rely on overwhelming ocular power. For example, Itachi could precisely sever control over specific body parts, whereas Yamaki could only construct a broad mental suggestion of death.
While effective, it consumed much ocular power, especially against strong-willed opponents.
Without illusions, Yamaki had little chance against Orochimaru.
Reflecting on his earlier spar with Jiraiya, Yamaki realised that despite holding back, he might not have won in a life-and-death struggle.
His high ocular power enabled him to win against Itachi, Shisui, and Fugaku, rendering their illusions ineffective.
In terms of Susanoo, their versions paled in comparison, with Itachi's reaching a maximum height of thirty meters, while Yamaki's could reach seventy meters and was still growing with increased ocular power.
Aside from this, Yamaki had numerous sealing techniques for quickly incapacitating opponents.
However, he lacked a powerful offensive ocular technique. Itachi's Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi were particularly appealing to him.
Although he possessed a one-time use technique, it would be gone after one use.
If only I had an offensive ocular technique with immense destructive power!
As this thought solidified, Yamaki felt a stirring in his Sharingan.
Huh!?
Yamaki's heart raced.
Could it be!?
The Mangekyō Sharingan, reflecting one's inner thoughts, required intense desires to awaken specific abilities.
Obito's Mangekyō awakened due to Rin's death. Feeling his world collapse, he awakened the space-warping Kamui to escape reality.
Shisui, who deeply loved peace, desired to change people's minds so they could coexist peacefully, awakening the mind-altering Kotoamatsukami.
Itachi's Mangekyō awakened after Shisui's death, and his extreme views led to the destructive Amaterasu and the idealistic Tsukuyomi.
Fugaku, always contemplating the clan's future and its impacts, awakened the ability to construct "future" illusions.
Having traversed into this world, Yamaki felt detached, lacking potent emotional triggers during his awakening. Therefore, while proficient with Susanoo, his ocular powers didn't manifest specific techniques.
Realising this, Yamaki felt a mix of amusement and frustration at his oversight.
Does this mean I now have the chance to construct my Mangekyō abilities!?
Excited, Yamaki considered his options.
Should it be the evasive Kamui, the all-consuming Amaterasu, or the mind-altering Kotoamatsukami?
None seemed to fit his personality.
What Yamaki desired was a straightforward, decisive ability to cut through chaos!
With this intense desire, his ocular power surged.
Unable to suppress it, Yamaki's Sharingan activated, spinning rapidly.
The outer blade and inner flower pattern extended, forming three lines reaching the eye's edge.
Thump, thump, thump... Like stones dropping into a calm lake, the ocular power rippled outwards.
All Uchiha with three-tomoe Sharingan nearby noticed the unique ocular power emanating from Yamaki.
Moments later, it settled.
Is Yamaki-sama testing a new ocular technique? Why does this ocular power feel so unique?
