Undefined Beast

In the deserted plains of the state of Elen, a middle-aged man was walking down the road with a cloak covering his body, with an analyzing stare the well-built proportion of the man can be seen outlining the cloak. The man is carrying a Sword that is more than half his size but still be able to carry and possibly operate it.

The man suddenly ran towards the forest over the horizon carrying his huge sword he sprinted with no care, and with his every step he left a huge imprint on the soil as if a huge animal weighing a ton stepped on it. As he was running he heard a primordial growl that made the tree tremble made the sky churn and made the bird fly as if their ancestral predator was near. The man took a sharp turn toward the growl dashing deep into the forest.

As minutes went by with every step he went near the center, the atmosphere became humid like a muddy swamp, the temperature became hot making the water evaporate. As strips of steam flow to the sky the man finally arrives, but he sees something he did not expect.

He saw what seemed to be a battlefield of epic proportions, the ground was littered with gashes that varied from the smallest to the largest size up to 7 meters. The ground was barren of life as even the smallest of grass was non-existent due to the high temperature of the place. And finally, a shocking event happened the man finally spoke.

Man " Well this is shocking, to say the least, I expected a big monster but I got nothing here instead."

The man looked around to look for clues to find out what happened in the place. Then the man saw the trail of battle go to a different place. The man decided to investigate the trail to better find out what happened.

The man followed the trail for a few minutes and finally came to a cave. The cave was surrounded by elongated vines accompanied by traces of fire at the tip of each vine. The smell of burnt leaves permits the air. The man stared at the entrance of the cave seemingly contemplating whether it was a trap.

Man " Ugh, what should I do? This is so troublesome can't I just get a rest why do they need to make it hard for me"

"GROWL"

Again he heard the growl of the beast, and now with a renewed motivation he ran full sprint towards the cave as he ran and went to it, as he went closer the temperature slowly rose up as if he was running closer to the sun.

With the cave walls creating a barrier that trapped the heat from coming out the cave slowly became a natural cauldron that heats up every moment. As the man finally got near the source of the growl he ready his huge sword and took a stance he slowly crept up to the corner and saw a beast, not just a normal beast but a beast of myths, a beast of legends a DRAKE!

The man looked around and saw the grandeur of the inside of the cave the cave was spacious, like a cavern, it was full of glowing red ores that glowed orange every so often. But the ground was dried and barren it looked like a parched ground that had not watered for a long time.

Then the man saw the huge body of the Drakes, it was a humongous drake measuring up to two huge trees on top of each other. The Drakes body was littered with fresh scars that had cauterized

But with blood still dripping at the end of the tail the beast was still dripping with blood seemingly cut with a really sharp blade.

The man readied his huge sword, prepared his stance, and took a huge breath that sucked the air like a whale hunting prawns in the sea. He dashes and takes a huge leap on the Drake with the intent to kill or disable the beast with a single strike. The beast suddenly woke up opened its eyes and showed its iris-like reptile as big as the palm of his hands, confused but cautious Drake narrowly avoided the sword slash seemingly sensing the killing intent of the man.

The beast cautiously gazed at the intruder of his cave and spoke.

" Another one came; why can't you just leave the majestic me alone? You're just gonna end up like the one earlier" The Drake growled.

The drake points at one of the many few corners of the cavern and then there it is a deceased body of his predecessor with battered armor on his body and a golden sword at hand.

" That's my dinner for later, come to think of it I haven't tasted the flesh of a human for a few years now I wonder how they taste now, ohh how exciting" The drake laughed and licked its snout as if it was human licking its lips.

The Drake grows serious as he stares at the man standing before him, it analyzes the body of the man and snorts happily.

" I wonder how you taste." The beast chuckled ominously.

As the beast continues to stare at the man he notices he's equipment and a cloak and a Claymore but won't be able to see anymore because of the cloak hiding his body.

"What does thy want from thy home" The Drake said formally.

But did not get a reply from the man, an unexpected response happened the man dashed to the Drake wanting to cut it with his huge sword but got swatted away by the huge claws of the beast as he swung the man again spoke.

"Do not speak no more beast as I only want your head, do you not get tired from talking to a person that will be killing you" The man said mockingly.

"Don't grow arrogant human for you have not seen the glorious power of myself, I can kill you with a mere breath of mine, you inferior creature!" The Drake said angrily.

The man did not reply and continued to strike down the beast, he launched a sword after sword of swings towards the creature but was not able to penetrate as the scale of the drake was hard as adamantium.

'Clang!' 'Clink!' 'Pang!' 'Brtttttttt!'

The fight continues with no clue who will win because of the fight, but the fight hasn't truly started the beast hasn't moved from his spot only moving its huge forearms to move its claws. While the man hasn't used any of his skills only attacking with his sword.

The beast and the man continued parrying as the minutes went by the drake got bored of the monotonous fight.

"What are you doing human, I'm growing sick of this fight why can't you take this seriously do you not know me I'm one of the strongest in this land" the drake spoke with arrogance.

"Why do I need to take you seriously beast when you don't get up from that earth to which you stand, lizard" the man retorted.

"A lizard really, I can kick you back to your many ancestors and yet you compare me to a much inferior creature, you're a dead man I tell you!" The Drake shouted.

As the drake was talking incessantly the man formulated a plan in his head to make the dragon get up because of a speculation.

'I need to make the beast get up, but how?' The man thinks to himself.

The man looked up at the ceiling of the cave which was as high as 6 trees combined, and saw huge stalactites dangling all over the cave. The man came up with a bright idea, to make the cave which was the Drake home turn against him.

'Those huge stalactites can certainly make the monster move but how can I do it while it doesn't notice?'

Again the man faces another problem but the beast isn't letting him up, as it finishes boasting about his grandeur.

"Are you impressed about my honors ant, because you seem to be just standing still" The Beast spoke accompanied by a slash of his claws which was dodged by the man easily.

'I won't be able to progress at this rate; I need to think of a way to distract the beast even for a few seconds'. The man thinks to himself while dodging the progressive claws of the beast.

The man looks around for anything he can use but only sees hard stones, ores, and dry dirt.

'Wait, dry dirt? I can use that as a makeshift smoke to disturb his line of vision.' With a plan in

hand, he now took action.

The man chanted the language of the fallen as he murmured incoherent words that only a few understands.

"Hᛖᛖᛞ ᛗᛃ ᚲᚨᛚᛚ, ᚹᛁᚾᛞ ᛟᛒᛖᛃ ᛏᚺᛃ ᛋᛖᛚᚠ."

The Drake's eyes widened as he heard the voice of the man and spoke with curiosity.

"So the ant evolved to a monkey, who knew you know the language of the fallen it seems like I

underestimated you a bit."

"Nevertheless an ant that evolved to a monkey is still an ant compared to a giant." The drake spoke with arrogance.

When the beast was done with his utterance, a sudden gush of wind blew towards him as the clouds of dust gathered creating a dust cloud.

'Whoshh' 'Whishh' 'Swossh'

The gathered debris obstructive the view of the beast, with nothing to see it looked around pointlessly and shouted.

"WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS MEASLY DUST, THIS CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO ME SO COME OUT THERE IS NO USE IN HIDING YOU, COWARD!"

The shout echoes throughout the cave, the beast angry because of the man, conjures a circle composed of intricate shapes on the tip of its snout and spoke the language of the ancients.

"ᛒᛂᚵᚮᚿᛂ." With that whisper, a tremendous amount of air surges throughout the cave toward the exit. Blowing all the dust away with a single word.

The beast was confused as even though the dust cloud was gone he could not see the man who caused it, but suddenly a whistling sound was heard above as if there were falling stones hurling onto it. Which the beast was correct but it was sharp stones traveling at the speed of a griffin on top of him.

The beast attempted to dodge but it was all for naught as it was already too close, as tens of pointed stones fell onto it, as time seemed to slow down as it saw a man stepping in the air holding a huge sword with the cloak flowing on the wind.

The beast got angry but still couldn't stop the inevitable, he got pounded by the huge pointed stalactite numbering in the ten's non-stop as it couldn't move but the spike couldn't seem to penetrate its hard scale only stunning and hurting it as shockwaves of inertia flow on the Drake's body with no penetration taking place.

The Beast grunts and growls because of the pain.

 "Ughh!" "Grrrrr!" "aghhhh!"

Due to the pain, the Drake attempted to get up but still got pounded by the force of the falling stalactite nevertheless, the beast successfully got up because the sensation of being pounded stopped. The beast stood on all fours as it taking up to twenty percent of the cave. The drake roared angrily at the man standing above it

"HAGHHH, get down from there you ant, and fight me!"

The man smirks and slowly steps down, stepping on the solidified air to the ground. The man spoke with laughter.

"Hahaha, who's the ant now beast it seems to me you like being hit by those huge stones."

"You have done it now human."

"ᚠᛁᚱᛂ!"

The same circle appeared as the beast spoke again using the language of the ancient the fire came out of the beast's mouth that was as hot as the magma of a volcano and aimed it toward the man.

The man with a face of indifference silently muttered.

"ᛒᚨᚱᚱᛁᛖᚱ."

A blue-shaped oval appeared in front of the man's body as it took the flame like a shield to a torrent of water. The Drake grins as it walks slowly onto the man, with every step the land trembles with fury seemingly not able to support the beast's huge weight, as he walks to the man the intensity of the flame is heightened.

The man noticing the change took a sidestep and got out of the torrent of flame. Carrying his sword, the man ran towards the beast's neck attempting to hack at it. The beast caught off guard was not able to do anything as the man slashed his sword at the beast's neck, but contrary to what the man expected he was not able to break the scales of the beast.

Even with the huge and unknown sharpness of the claymore, he was still not able to penetrate the scale.

Wary, the man took a strategic retreat and noticed a huge wound on the Drake's belly. Unexpectedly a huge amount of fire came right at him causing him to take a hit.

"Heh, seems like the monkey is burning." spoke the Beast with satisfaction.

The man quickly took off his cloak as the fire quickly burnt it asunder. Now the Drake finally noticed the man's body, as it was previously covered with a cloak.

The man's body was masculine as he's arms were full of scars, with golden hair flowing to the wind, sharp eyes like a wolf, and a huge scar running across his face.

"Ohhh, I almost thought you were a prince." The beast said mockingly.

"And here I thought you were a pesky drake it seems like I was wrong, you're a Dragon." Said the man.

"Heh, how did you know and here I am thinking I hid it successfully, answer my question human how did you know." The drake, now dragon said with amusement.

"Your wounds and my sword, your wounds look fresh, but I still wasn't able to penetrate it even with the sharpness of my sword, even your claws were hard, so now I can only assume you are a dragon. A weapon enchanted with dragon slayer is the only weapon that can cause harm to a dragon and my weapon is not." The man explained.

"I was not destined to win the moment the battle began"

"As I said before you're a dead man."

The dragon continued his onslaught while the man only ran completely giving up on to attack. The man thinks to himself.

'I need a plan to defeat that dragon or at least escape but that dragon seems like it's not planning for me to even think of escaping. I should have enchanted my sword before I came how troublesome."

The eyes of the man widened as he remembered a corpse the moment he came here as that corpse was holding a golden glowing sword.

Now with renewed hope the man hastily dashed toward the location of the corpse. The Dragon smirked as the man continued to run helplessly not knowing the huge disaster coming.

The man ran and ran, eventually finding the corpse with the sword still in hand. The man goes to the side of the corpse and looks at the dragon galloping towards him.

"Ohh how sweet you and your predecessor's corpse will be together when you die how touching." The Dragon said with fervor.

The man not caring for the taunt took the sword and chanted, jumped up, and ran to the ceiling as solid air appeared on the soles of his feet every time he stepped.

The Dragon was shocked as he knew that sword because that sword was the weapon that injured him before the man came here, a weapon enchanted to kill dragons.

The Dragon fearfully looked at the man and then to anger; the Dragon went down to all four when suddenly wings burst out of its back and the Dragon slowly flapped its wings and flew towards the ceiling.

The man noticing the Dragon flying, cut some of the remaining stalactite on top of the Dragon hoping to buy time which he accomplished.

The dragon falls as a pointed rock again falls onto him, pounding it mercilessly.

"Even if you have that you still won't be able to kill me as that is almost broken due to our fight earlier HAHAHAH." The Dragon shouted while falling, accompanied by another valley of Stalactite.

The man then analyzes the sword and notices that the sword is indeed almost broken, the man was hopeless but then his face brightens as he remembers the magic that his mentor taught him. The man again chanted as the language of the fallen was heard, he held both swords in both of his hands as a golden energy coursed through his arms to the broken sword which gathered there for a few seconds and then suddenly condensed to a liquid form of a red and white liquid

"ᛟᛒᛖᛁ ᛗᛖ, ᚨᚾᛞ ᚲᛟᛗᛒᛁᚾᛖ ᛏᛟ ᛒᛖ ᚦᛖ ᛊᛏᚱᛟᛜᛖᛊᛏ ᚠᛟᚱᛗ."

The man uttered the incantation then he grabbed the liquid and smashed it to his sword, as the liquid flowed to every crevice of the claymore the sword gained a golden luster while the old sword broke apart and fell.

The Dragon saw the broken piece of the sword and laughed, the dragon unfolded his wings sending rocks everywhere as it flew towards the man breathing fire as he flew while the man undoes his floor and falls aiming his sword downward and gaining momentum.

The two met mid-air, it was a picturesque moment as both man and beast fought for an unknown reason, the dragon gained the upper hand the moment they met, and the dragon successfully dodged the sword and bit the man's hands.

The man screamed as the teeth of the Dragon were scalding, the beast grinned at the noise.

"Heh, I win human this is why you don't go to a Dragon's nest with no weapon, tell me your name so that I kill every person with it HAHAHA--" " Ackk" "Eck" the dragon's musing was cut short as the man let go of

the sword and took it with his other hand and stab it into the Dragon throat mushing at the back causing the beast to gag as Dragon blood falls.

The eyes of the beast widened with a look of anger, and shame then to anguish and dread with a sword still at the back of the throat the Dragon spoke.

"Even if I am to die, the mother of our child will kill you so be prepared for the consequences human."

With that, the dragon spoke its last words as they hurled onto the ground dropping with a huge "THUD!"

The sword penetrated inside successfully killing the Dragon but not without consequences as the man lost his arm due to the fall.

The man got up painfully and moved out of the way and thought about the Dragon's word. But remembered his arm as he forcefully cut it because of the beast's saliva which was as hot as lava.

The man picks up his sword which has lost its golden luster and walks to the body of the dead Dragon then slashes at its jaw successfully taking a tooth. With a tooth and sword and hand, the man slowly limped towards the way he came, a few moments later he was at the place where the beast was sleeping and saw multiple rocks, but the noteworthy item was the glowing egg-shaped rock which was an egg.

A dragon egg to be exact and troves of books. The Dragon was a father guarding his nest, he's home, and his child—a Dragon that was not greedy for wealth but lusted for knowledge.
