"Jackass—get out!!" Sonia snapped back to reality in her fury, pointing at him and yelling, "Who let you in here?"
"I really don't like your attitude. Change it!" Gibson said calmly.
"Get out—! Mind your own business! Where's security?!"
She yelled towards the hallway and grabbed the phone to call the front desk to send up security.
But...
"Ms. Juarez... all the security staff... they've all gone to the hospital..."
"What?! All of them went to the hospital?!"
"Yes! It's not just the security staff; even all the bodyguards who came for an interview got beaten up by some stranger, and now they've all been taken away by ambulances!"
"..."
Sonia hung up the phone furiously, turned around, and pointed at him, shouting, "Did you do this?!"
"Stop hiring those useless people; they can't even take a single hit!" Gibson said, spreading his hands and speaking coldly.
Sonia was furious. He was sitting in her chair, drinking her tea, insulted her, and now he had sent her staff to the hospital!
"Are you Gibson?!" Sonia glared at him intensely.
He straightened his collar and replied coldly, "Seems like your grandpa told you all about me! Finding me is an honor for your Juarez family!"
After all, with a salary of a hundred million, in the past, he'd have sent a dog to slap the face of anyone who insulted him like this!
He once had a large wolf-dog, and someone offered ten billion just to have his dog look after their estate.
If it weren't for his master's issues, he wouldn't bother with the Juarez family's petty requests.
Maybe she's the 'disaster dressed in beauty' they talk about. Her father discovered the secret of eternal life through gene resequencing and gave her the backup before he died!
And the trouble this woman has stirred up is directly linked to his master's death!
"Hah, you think you can be my fiancé? In your dreams!" Sonia snapped at him.
Hearing this, Gibson's smile froze, "What? Fiancé? I admit you're pretty, but what are you dreaming about in broad daylight? Me, your fiancé? You wish! And... if you ever wanted me to lower myself to that, it would cost you extra!"
"What?! Lower yourself for me? Are you even worthy?!"
"Worthy? More than enough!"
"..."
Sonia was so amused by his arrogance that she almost laughed. She had planned to put him in his place and make him back off, but it seemed he thought she wasn't good enough for him!
She, the only woman in Starfall City called a genius in a decade!
At sixteen, she was exceptionally admitted to one of the top universities abroad, published significant papers on gene alteration by eighteen, and earned a master's degree. At twenty, she returned home to create the Wind Group, turning a hundred million investment into a hundred times its original value.
Now at twenty-two, she was already poised to enter the top ten of Starfall City's wealthy list, the only young female tycoon!
And this guy had the audacity to say he was more than enough for her?
And this guy, with his average looks and style, and he thinks he can be her fiancé?
Dream on!
"Here's a million bucks! Take the money and scram!" Sonia pulled out a check from her drawer, wrote on it, and slammed it in front of him with disgust.
"A million, interesting!" Gibson slowly stood up, smirked coldly, and said, "You've got a big temper, not much up top, and not much to look at either, but I like your rebellious spirit. I'll take a hit and give you a chance to chase me!"
"Chase you? Dream on!"
"See, playing hard to get now!"
"Get out—!" Sonia was about to explode with anger.
Just then, Gibson strode over, pinned her against the desk, grabbing one hand and supporting her leg with the other. Those black stockings were indeed silky smooth! He hoisted her over his shoulder.
"Asshole—I'll kill you!" Sonia screamed her lungs out.
What kind of sick freak had her grandpa set her up with? This guy was not only weirdly confident but a total creep!
Bang! At that moment, a sharp sound came from the glass, followed by the water cooler at the wall shattering as if hit by something.
The crisp sound of a gunshot left Sonia stunned and frozen, even forgetting about Gibson's hands on her legs, trembling in shock.
"Man, earning this billion from you is really tough!" Gibson let her go and spread his hands, "About the part where you took advantage of me just now, that's gonna cost extra! And the part about me being your fiancé, that too!"
After hesitating for a while, Sonia, still trembling, looked up at him. If it weren't for him just now, she might have been killed.
"I'll give you money if you can ensure my safety," she said softly, her eyes tearful.
It looked like she was really breaking down from recent events. It used to be just car accidents on the road, being monitored or spied on at night, but now her life was directly at risk!
Seeing her sudden plea, Gibson gave a resigned smile, "I still prefer your feisty spirit. Get back to that!"
"Alright!"
True to form for a big businessperson, she might be young, but she had a strong presence. "Two hundred million! For my safety!" Sonia said sternly, looking him straight in the eye.
Gibson shook his head, looking troubled. "This is way too little money. I've never taken such a bad deal!"
The famous Mortal Demon taking action for just two hundred million?
No way.
Ding ding ding—! Gibson's phone started ringing. He pulled it out to see a call from old Mr. Juarez.
"Old man, one price for one job. You set such a low price, and now I have to be her fiancé too? All the benefits go to your Juarez family? How am I supposed to keep my reputation if this gets out?" he complained as soon as he answered the call.
From the other end of the line came the old man's mischievous laughter, "Barton, right, there's something you might not know. Your master once played cards with me and ended up owing a bit of money... so..."
"Just a bit of money? How much? I'll pay it off for him."
"Not much, just a mere one thousand nine hundred and sixty billion! When can you clear that up?"
