Grinding (3)
After waiting for a bit I heard my timer ring allowing me to enter the dungeon again. However, just as I entered monsters greeted me at the entrance.
"Grrr,"
"Gra,"
In front of me stood wolves with jet-black fur. However, as I observed closer I noticed that they seemed to be…flickering?
Looking above their heads I saw the names of the monsters.

A group of five shadow wolves, seeing that I clicked my tongue in annoyance "Tsk another dog-type dungeon,"
I then used [Fire Blast] however, as the small orbs of light appeared the shadow wolves started to scatter.
*BOOM*
Seeing that I didn't receive any notifications I activated [Magic Barrier] which blocked a claw strike aimed at me.
'The hell?'
I tried to find the shadow wolves, but I noticed that many streaks of shadows appeared in front of me.
I then used [Fire Blast] to create dozens of small orbs causing some of the dungeons to be lit. However, in the next second a chain of explosions happened causing smoke to fill the air but a pleased smile appeared on my face.

I then smirked as I saw the notifications and deactivated my magic barrier. However, I then felt uneasy before I figured it out.
Before I could quickly put up the magic barrier a notification appeared followed by a dozen pinches on my back.

'Damn'
Throwing the wolf off my back I used [Flameforge] to kill it.

Despite my great experience in my previous life I actually hadn't fought a shadow wolf. This was largely because I had made it to the second town and started to hunt the undead as they spawned in large numbers allowing me to grind constantly.
"Ugh, this is going to be a pain,"
As I continued through the dungeon I encountered another group of shadow wolves. They growled at me before they started to ponce toward me.
"Damn it!"

"What the hell did I create?"
I slumped to the floor as I looked at the level-up notification.

I then pulled up my status screen.

After a bit, I let out a breath and decided I should invest some of my stat points.
As I looked at the stats I thought about what to invest in.
Strength was self-explanatory however, the stat was mainly for mages carrying heavy staffs.
Dexterity is basically defense, however, it wasn't as great as a defense. This was because Dexterity also helped with speed rather than just defense. That being said it wasn't as great as Agility or Defense. Still, it seemed to be a good stat to invest in.
Intelligence helped in forming the spell. The stat helped with stuff like how I make my [Fire Blast] spell in a small ball of light. However, it could also help in artifact usage.
Vitality just helps with health. Each point of vitality is 2 HP.
Wisdom helps with the understanding of spells. To put it simply the higher the wisdom stat the more powerful spells you can learn.
Finally the spirit stat. The stat increased the damage of the spells however, it isn't as overpowered as it sounds. The increase is pretty minimal but I was still able to one-shot many creatures.

Getting up from the floor I looked further into the dungeon.
I had barely gotten past the entrance, so what the hell could be down there?
"Let's find out,"
I continued to walk into the dungeon and after a bit and by bit I mean like 45 seconds A swarm of bats started to fly around causing me to instantly put up a magic barrier.

The bats were pretty big and red. However, the bats were also pretty easy to kill.
Snapping my fingers small orbs of light appeared all around the area before a dozen explosions happened.
*BOOOOM*
Smoke filled the air however, I paid attention to the notifications.

'Only one?'
However, as the smoke cleared I also had another 2 on the floor injured. Activating [Flameforge] I charged toward the still-reaming flying bats. Using [Dash] I appeared behind one of them before I swung downward.

Once I landed on the floor I heard a shrill scream.
"Screeeeee!"
Seeing a blast of what I could only describe as sound waves coming at me I activated [Dash] once more to appear behind the bat before I cut it in half.

Hearing that I was surprised.
I then quickly killed the other bats however, I noticed one bat dropped something.
[Crimson Bat Fang]
'Hm I'll see what it can be used for later'
Putting the crimson bat fang in my inventory I made my way further into the dungeon however, as I did I was met with another pack of shadow wolves.
"Oh god dammit,"
I activated a magic barrier to block the ones that were coming from the front however, I quickly activated [Flameforge] and swung my staff behind me to kill one of the shadow wolves.

I then used [Fire blast] however, this time I simply pointed my staff to the nearest group before a loud explosion happened.
*BOOOM*
However, I didn't receive any notifications causing me to use [Dash] to disappear from my spot. And when I did 3 shadow wolves attacked the spot I was once at.
'Damn these guys are fast'
I had counted around 8 shadow wolves and their levels ranged from 12 to 14.
"AWHOO"
The one in the center howled giving me the opportunity to use [Fire Blast] however, I knew it didn't hit any of them instead I activated [Flameforge] along with [Dash]. I disappeared and reappeared a certain distance but in front of me was a shadow wolf.
I quickly swung my staff down splitting the wolf in 2.
Using [Dash] again I appeared in the air and activated [Fire Blast]
*BOOOOM*
However, just as the explosion happened I didn't receive any of the notifications that was expected instead, I was launched backward into the roof. Once my feet touched the roof I activated [Dash] and appeared on the ground behind a confused shadow wolf before I swung my staff..

Once I saw the notification I quickly used [Dash] and appeared behind another shadow wolf killing it too.

I then used [Dash] a third time to appear behind another shadow wolf however, it was able to move out of the way. As my staff hit the floor I saw a shadow wolf pounce toward me. Using [Magic Barrier] I quickly blocked the attack.
But just as the shadow wolf was going to bite down I used [Fire Blast] to create a small orb in front of it. When the shadow wolf closed its jaws a small explosion happened blowing up the wolf's head.

But then another shadow wolf appeared beside me causing me to turn and hold my staff out as there wasn't enough time for the [Magic Barrier] spell to manifest.
With the new strength stat, I was able to block with my staff pretty easily however, I then tripped on something causing me to fall but the thing I tripped on was a shadow wolf causing me to curse.
I held the wolf back with my staff at its neck. I quickly activated [Flameforge] causing a small blade of flames to pierce its neck.

As the body was pixelating I used [Dash] to move out of that spot and appeared behind the group of shadow wolves and then I activated [Fire Blast]

Seeing the notification I watched as the smoke cleared. In the distance, however, I saw one of the shadow wolves running away. Now I could've chased it however, on the floor there were a few items so I decided to get those.
I let out a breath.
I wasn't even halfway through the dungeon yet and half of my mana was gone. A blue pill appeared in my hands before I put it in my mouth.

"I seriously need to get my hands on a few of my old skills,"
