Dorothy

Raphael's face turned red, his voice firm but controlled, "mother, don't play dumb with me, I know you have been riding Sophia about having a child, and I won't stand for it, she is my wife and I won't let you bully her like this."

Mrs. Martins looked up from her book, her eyes cold and calculating. "Oh, so you're defending her now? You think she's so innocent? She's the one who can't even give you a child, Raphael. She's the one who's failing our family."

Raphael's anger boiled over, his words sharp as a knife. "That's enough, Mother! Sophia is not failing our family. She's my wife, and I love her, children or no children. And even if she can't bear children, that's not her fault. It's not her alone who determines that."

Mrs. Martins snorted, her voice dripping with disdain. "You're so blind, Raphael. You're so caught up in your love for her that you can't see the truth. She's not worthy of our family name."

Raphael slammed the door shut behind him, his heart racing with anger. He knew he had to protect Sophia from his mother's venom, but he also knew that this was far from over. The battle lines had been drawn, and he was ready to fight for his wife's honor and their marriage. His mind racing with thoughts of how to protect her from his mother's venomous attacks. He knew he had to do something, but what?

As he walked back to the dining room, he saw Sophia still sitting there, her eyes red from crying. He went to her, wrapped his arms around her, and held her close.

"I'm so sorry, Sophia," he whispered. "My mother has no right to speak to you like that. You're my wife, and I love you, no matter what."

Sophia looked up at him, her eyes searching for answers. "Why is she doing this, Raphael? Why is she so cruel?"

Raphael sighed, his voice heavy with emotion. "I don't know, Sophia. But I promise you, I'll do everything in my power to stop her. We'll get through this together, okay?"

Sophia nodded, a small smile on her face. "Okay, Raphael. I trust you."

Raphael held her close, his heart filled with determination. He knew he had to protect Sophia from his mother's wrath, no matter what it took. He was her husband, and he would do everything in his power to keep her safe.

Just then, an idea struck him. "Sophia, I have an idea. Let's go see a fertility specialist. Maybe there's a way to help us conceive."

Sophia's eyes lit up with hope. "Really? You'd do that for me?"

Raphael smiled. "Of course, my love. We're in this together, always."

Sophia's face filled with a mix of emotions - hope, gratitude, and love. She knew that with Raphael by her side, she could face anything, even his mother's cruelty. It's becoming more difficult for Sophia, even after seeing a fertility specialist, she was still unable to conceive, dram had just begun in her life.

Having to face his mother was very difficult for Raphael, to him, his mother was his everything, before and after his father died, having to chose his wife over her was so difficult to decide and Raphael saw himself standing in the middle of decision making.

25 years old, beautiful Dorothy, is the house help of the Martins family, she had worked for them for 8 years and is still working for them.

"Why didn't I think of her all this time?", Mrs Martins thought within herself, while admiring the beautiful maid "I have known her from her teenage years, I am sure that she's a virgin, she can give my son a child, what do I do now? How do I convince Raphael to take her in as a wife? Or should I convince her to seduce with my son rather?".

Her thoughts were interrupted by Dorothy's voice, "ma'am, what would you like for dinner?"

In a conversational format, the story continues:

Mrs. Martins: (staring at Dorothy with an intent gaze) Ah, Dorothy, my dear, I was just thinking... you've been with us for so long, like a member of the family.

Dorothy: (confused) Ma'am? I don't understand...

Mrs. Martins: (smiling slyly) Oh, I think you will, dear. I think you will. You see, I've been thinking... my son Raphael needs a wife who can give him children. And I think you'd be perfect for the job.

Dorothy: (shocked) Ma'am! I... I don't know what to say!

Mrs. Martins: (leaning in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone) Think about it, Dorothy. You'd be part of this family, with all the comforts and security that comes with it. And I'm sure Raphael would be very... appreciative. (winking)

Dorothy: (uncomfortable) Ma'am, I... I need to go. (starts to leave)

Mrs. Martins: (laughing) Oh, no, no, dear. This conversation is just beginning. (grabs Dorothy's arm, her grip tight) You see, I've already thought this through. And I have a plan...

(Dorothy looks worried, unsure of what Mrs. Martins has in store for her...)

"Dorothy, prepare whatever meal that you like, I will gladly enjoy it, and please think about what I just said, I will take care of the rest once you accept my offer, I promise you that you will become my son's wife and I will make sure that no one lays finger on you", Mrs Martins added.

Standing up from where she sat, Dorothy walked out of the room, unsure about this request.
