CHAPTER 11 : GATHERING THE BRAVES 6

*

"I have no idea why you followed the long road. You could've been here a long time ago. Did you say that you encountered an accident on the way here?" asked the hospital director, zakarI. He was going through a file in his laptop as the car cut through the almost empty road with an incredible speed.

Of course her uncle will rain down on her as if it matters which ever way she follows, if the accident is destined to happen then it will. Hassana decided for the second time to relate to her uncle the recount of the accident that got her late, she could've been killed or seriously injured.

When she arrived at the hospital, zakari pulled her to the garage where his car was parked and told her that they were summoned by the field marshal, shamsuddeen. Well, she have heard about him but have never meet him. Such an important figure summoning them, this had to be big!

At the octagon, the headquarters was unusually busy as zakari scanned over the place with his eyes. Multiple soldiers and workers were running up and down the field. Why is this place crowded today? What is happening? They went straight to the meeting room at octa 12. Hassana was in anticipation to meet the field marshal. What she heard about him from her uncle's little description was horrifying.

In his description, the field marshal was a man of honor quite alright but when in action, a lion in the desert, an elephant in the battle field, even a crocodile in the vast neem river. When beside him, obedience is uttermost important. Do not step out of line or you'll be in total insubordination with the field marshal.

Do not talk out of turns, do not even look sideways at him....the long list of don'ts made hassana felt reluctant to meet him but the curiosity to meet such a man was undeniable. Meeting this man was her top most priority even if it is just to see him from a glance. Anyway, since he summoned them himself....did he even know who she is talk less of summoning her? It must be her uncle's intention to bring her along. Since she will have that chance, then she is going to see him, fully witness, judge and....

In her train of thoughts, she heard her mobile phone ringing and she started rummaging inside her bag searching for it. Although it rings quite alright but the screen is blank due to the accident. Suddenly, a small object fell out of her bag and dropped on the floor right before the room octa 12. Before she could hurriedly get it, zakari quickly grabbed it staring in uttermost confusion.

Could this be what he thought it was?! A military badge! Not just any military badge but the badge of the field marshal!! Did it just fell out of his niece's handbag!!! Looking at her strangely, he began to question her with his sharp eyes but at that moment the door to octa 12 opened, hassana quickly grabbed the badge from her uncle and hid it. A man in a suit ushered them into the room.

Wow! That was so close, thought hassana. What if the man in suit saw it? Subhanallah!

His niece is going to be the end of him, thought zakari. How did she get into the possession of that badge?! The field marshal certainly won't just hand it over to her.

The room was huge with a long table encircled by lots of chairs. Most of the chairs were unoccupied. Two military men were seated, staring at them sharply.

"Take your seats you're already late!" ordered the man with two stars and one eagle on his shoulders. He is the colonel, Jan gwarzo.

Zakari offered hassana a seat and sat close to her. Hassana was trying very hard not to look at her uncle because he was giving her an interrogative look. How is she suppose to tell him she is seeking revenge on the person that nearly hurt her? That will surely give him a heart attack. Keep the badge of the whole field marshal without his consent! Is she mad!! Nope, she have to come up with a story.

The door opened and a tall, dark, handsome striking man walked in together with another man in uniform. Hassana was instantly carried by away by the beauty and boldness of that man. Not too dark, chocolate one can say, built up muscles screaming to be set free from the dark shirt he wore. Damn! He have style and swag and.....

"General of the army field marshal shamsuddeen, general khalid, sir!" saluted Jan gwarzo.

"Sir!" salutes the other man.

Shamsuddeen strode to the seat at the head of the table offered by the colonel and sat and his gaze went straight to the young lady in the group. General khalid ordered everyone to seat and as they sat, hassana who was already seated was disturbed by the field marshal's non shaking gaze which was still on her. The man didn't even blink. Wow! He have a nice stare too. Hassana began to get excited but wait, did he said the field marshal?!!!!

No wonder he was reckless a while back, nearly hitting her with his bike, broke her phone and sped away? How did he became a field marshal at such a young age? This means...she grabbed at her handbag tightly, thinking about the badge and glancing at her uncle.

The girl wasn't even hurt at all. Then why did khalid kept insisting to send someone to check up on her? Hm! He knew he avoided her tactically well at the street when the stupid girl just got into the road without looking around, busy with her phone and nearly gotten hit. He didn't yield to the general's request because he knew he hadn't even touched her and besides he have an important meeting to attend and must not be delayed. He didn't have the time to compensate her. Who knows she will also be here?

"We are under this distress due to the war alert received recently." Announced the general.
