Chapter 12
"B-b-boss" he stutters and Devin walks up to me.
"Is she your girl? You got good taste" Mike said and Devin glared at him and he leaves immediately.
"Thanks" I said with a little smile.
"Are you alright?" He asked me
"Yeah I'm fine" I replied.
I turned around and saw several other guys throwing flirtatious looks at me but one glare from Devin sent them looking elsewhere.
"Don't be too bothered about them. They might flirt with you but won't force you to do anything if you don't want to" he assured me
"Okay" I replied
"What were you about doing?" He asked
"Oh nothing. I was just bored and wanted to ask if it's you know, alright with you guys whether I could watch TV?" I asked hoping he would give a positive response.
"Yeah sure and Kayden said you shouldn't wait up for him that he'll be back late. He was gonna tell you something right?"
"Yeah"
"Ok, see you later" he said then walked away.
AUTHOR'S POV
Kayden walks out with Aaren having two bodyguards at the front and back . They get into their car.
"Asher's on his way there with the documents" Aaren says and Kayden nods in affirmation and looks out the window.
A few minutes later Aaren spoke up again.
"Just got another bad news" he says and sighs in frustration.
"Talk" Kayden says
"Devin says $3 million was taken from one of the hotels again and two of our men were found dead."
"What do you think they're after?" Kayden asks Aaren.
"Huh?"
"The Swiss" Kayden says and turns to Aaren.
"Money?" Aaren said.
"I don't think so" Kayden replied and turned back to look out the window and spoke up again.
"I feel like they're being controlled by someone. Someone's giving them orders and they're carrying it out. I don't think they're our main enemy."
Kayden's words leaves them both in thoughts.
They arrive at an ally where a man was being pulled by some men in black and was forced to kneel. On seeing Kayden said Aaren, the man starts pleading and Kayden signals something to Mason, one of the bodyguards who came along.
"Look who we have here" Aaren says with a sly grin on his face leaving a murderous intent.
Mason walks over and lots a cigarette for Kayden and hands him a gun.
On seeing the gun, the man trembles in fear and began pleading for his life.
"Where's my money?" Kayden asks and puffs out a cloud of smoke and with his cold gaze, glares at the man.
The man starts crying "I still don't have it yet, it's not complete." He manages to say.
"I hate repeating myself twice" Kayden said.
"I really don't have anything on me right now. It's my wife, she took all the money I have and left with my child" the man said pleading and crying as Aaren punched him in the face and a bodyguard hands him a tissue to wipe his hands clean.
"You had enough time to pay me back. You had enough money but wasted it on bets. Your wife left with your six years old daughter 'cause you wasted your money gambling and never took care of her" Kayden said and the man was speechless and broke down in tears again.
"Did you really think you could escape from me" Kayden's tone was icy with a clear approach of dominance.
"Please spare me" the man pleaded and Kayden puffs out another cloud of smoke and looks at him indifferently.
"Your daughter would be taken to work for us and you're left with precisely 3hours to get my money back. Don't try anything funny 'cause I'm watching your every move."
The man wondered how he would get the $2.5 million dollars in just 3 hours but he didn't dare argue 'cause he knew his life could be taken right there.
Kayden on the other hand wasn't bothered about him escaping because he knew he won't be able to and he had already signed a contract stating that if he is unable to pay back all assets should be handed over to Kayden.
"Thank you, thank you, I promise to pay back" The man was still scared and prayed that Kayden won't change his mind.
Kayden walks away after looking at him in disgust and then Aaren and the bodyguards followed suit.
They hadn't gone far when they heard a gunshot and they all turned to see that the man was shot in the head.
Mason and another guard walked Kayden and Aaren to the car while the other two went in search of the person who did that.
They came back some minutes later and said the person was no where to be found.
"The Swiss?" Aaren asked
"I don't think so" Kayden replied and his eyebrows furrowed in concentration.
They drove off and arrived minutes later at a building.
"What kept you guys?" Asher asked
"Met with Andrew (the man at the ally) Someone shot him as we were about to leave. Aaren replied and Devin walked in.
"Is it the Swiss again?" Asher asked.
"Kayden says he doesn't think so" Aaren replied.
"Me too" Devin said.
"Someone is using them to keep us distracted" Kayden said.
"I've also had thoughts of them working for someone" Devin said turning to Kayden.
"But who?" Asher asked.
"We just have to stay alert and not make any rash decisions" Aaren replied
"We also need to double our security" Asher commented as well.
"Yeah" Devin replied.
"What about Cayley?" Kayden asked and turned to Devin.
"She had gone to bed before I came here." Devin replied.
"Keep a close look on her." Kayden said.
"Are you suspecting her?" Asher asked.
"No" Kayden replied.
They all fell quiet.
MEANWHILE...
A person gets out their phone and calls someone.
On the call...
Person: Mission accomplished
On the other side of the call the person replies "Did they see you?"
Person: No
"Good job. Now I heard they brought the girl over to their headquarters. I need you to get her for me.
Person: Ok uncle
"That'll be all"
The person hangs up.
