Guess

"You've been quite busy too, huh?"

Looking at the street, Ertex saw multiple bodies laid down. They were either headless, with fewer limbs than one should have, or had big holes in their torso.

"Good job!"

Patting Arga's head, he snapped his fingers, making the corpses disappear. They then began walking, going towards the supermarket.

"What do you want to make?"

"Something with pork and mushrooms."

Nodding, he glanced to his right. Someone was there.

He didn't care enough, so he just ignored him.

.

.

.

The man, once he felt that he was seen, disappeared. He then arrived in front of a house, quickly entering.

"What have you found out?"

"Nothing. He saw me as soon as I'd arrived."

There were five people in the house, all having the same badge on their shoulders.

"I don't understand why do we have to be so cautious! They are just two people for fuck's sake!"

A tall man with a scar across his face smacked the man who spoke on the back of his head.

"Fucking drunkard! That guy killed Oliver with a single finger! That woman, too, killed so many people without even moving. What are we supposed to do against them, you fuck?"

Silence fell in the room, everyone worried about these new people.

"What are we gonna do?"

The man with the scar sighed.

"Pray that we are not on their list or something, and wait for her to return. Leave them alone. Nothing good will come out of this if we annoy them."

.

.

.

"So much beef... Disgusting."

Pushing the cart, Ertex wrinkled his nose, making Arga laugh.

"Huh? Ertex?"

Hearing his name, Ertex turned his head towards the person calling him, smiling.

"Edna! What a coincidence."

A coincidence, indeed. Edna, along with her mother, went to the supermarket at the same time Ertex did. Just coincidences.

"Where were you? I thought you disappeared for real this time!"

"No idea."

Arga just nodded at them, minding her own business. Edna, seeing her wanting to walk away, quickly followed her, wanting to know when she could start her training.

And so, Mary was left alone with Ertex.

Coincidence.

"Now that I think about it... I never told you my name, right?"

"..."

"Right, you didn't."

"My name is Mary."

"Nice to meet you, Mary."

They pushed their own carts towards their relatives.

"Edna was able to coherently tell me what happened, yet I still have no memories of these things happening. Can you tell me what I was doing that you found me? Edna told me something about being controlled. Who did that?"

"It doesn't matter anymore, right? You are well and alive right now, after all."

Mary looked at him, frowning.

"Of course it matters! I want to find whoever thought it was a good idea to just control me!"

'And do what, you idiot?'

He didn't say that out loud. Instead, he closed the distance between them, and brought his face closer to hers.

"You want to take revenge? I can help you."

"I-I heard you are rather expensive... So I-I'll refuse."

She quickened the pace, as she felt her heart beating too fast all of a sudden.

"Aw, too bad."

His attention was stolen by a stand.

"Toys?"

Ertex chuckled, grabbing a rabbit plush.

"Who the fuck buys them in this kind of place?"

He placed it back, walking towards Arga.

"Tomorrow, then?"

"Yeah."

Ertex heard them talking about something. He guessed it was about Edna's training. Arga placed some pork ribs in the cart, nodding.

"Alright, we're done. Let's go pay."

He nodded, grabbing some foil and throwing it in the cart.

"We're done, too. Where do you live? So that I know where to find you."

He ignored her, letting Arga do the talking as he walked to a register counter. He leaned on the cart, seeing how many people there were.

Suddenly, a woman cut the line. He saw that everyone allowed it, and after checking her, he saw the same badge on her shoulder as the mysterious man from earlier.

He smiled.

The woman approached him, not paying attention to anyone. When she saw Ertex not moving away, she raised an eyebrow.

"Can't you see I want to get through? Idiot."

"Can't you see I'm not letting you? Blind bitch."

Silence fell.

Everyone thought of Ertex simply as a dead man. After all, they knew who that woman was.

They knew her as Tiana. She was the strongest person they've ever seen, a genius through and through, the single one acknowledged in years. No one knew who Ertex was, all thinking that he just got here. But they were aware that wouldn't save him.

She sighed.

"Why all handsome guys must be idiots?"

He ignored her.

"Since we are allowed to cut the line if we are strong enough, might as well exploit this. Let's go pay, mom."

They carelessly began walking, until a man tried to stop them.

Tried indeed, since Ertex just crushed his head with his hand, the man falling to the ground.

"Why didn't I think of doing this back on Earth?"

The woman was left speechless.

Something was wrong there.

Since she was placed here, she has always depended on her senses. Never once were they wrong. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that the only reason she got where she is right is because of these senses.

So why?

Why weren't her senses telling her anything right now?

It was like she never had them in the first place.

It was unusual. Very unusual. So unusual, in fact, that she was liking it. She approached them, smiling.

"Hey!"

Oh.

The senses were there.

While unable to tell anything about Ertex, the senses never left.

She stopped, the color in her face disappearing.

Never in her life has she felt such danger before. All the courage, all the cockiness, even her smile were gone in an instant.

Everyone else felt the same. They found it hard to breath, while some even fainted.

"Jeez. So quick to get mad, mom. Kill her if you want, but do it fast. I want home."

Ertex took the groceries after paying and left. Seeing that, Arga quickly followed him, but not before looking again at the woman, so that she would remember her.

Edna and her mother were the first to recover, the daughter clenching her fists.

Once home, Ertex looked at Arga cooking. She was humming while slicing the mushrooms.

He placed his head in his hands, checking her as she now wore the red dress.

He would be lying is he said she wasn't looking good. Ertex always liked the color red on her.

'She's gonna cut herself..'

"Fuck!"

'Knew it.'

This always happened. Every time she has to slice something, she always manages to cut herself too.

He saw a tiny amount of blood dripping down from her wound. Ertex always liked that too.

By the time she washed it, the wound disappeared.

"Quite convenient."

As Ertex got up, she continued to cut the mushrooms. He walked behind her, placed his head on her shoulder, looking at how she was cutting, and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Huh? That's... quite new."

It's not like she minded, though.

They stood in silence for a while, only the slicing being heard.

.

.

.

Not for long, as Ertex started to kiss her neck. Arga's heart was beating faster and faster, and she was starting to lose focus.

"W-what are you doing?"

He stopped, laughing.

"Guess!"

I still don't know how good the pacing is, but anyway.

Next chapter, if nothing interferes, should be a smut.

Enjoy!
