Fireworks (VIII)

The air in the chamber was getting hot, the tension so thick it was possible to cut it with a blade. Erik and Valcroy stood in the center, their eyes on the opposite walls as both sides slid open. A faint grinding sound echoed as shadows poured into the chamber the moment that boulder-like wall moved out of the way, figures emerging in a steady stream.

The people looked around before their eyes settled on the two. Their movements slowed down, their weapons gleaming even in the dim light of the chamber. Mana lanterns were lit as they started flying up, lighting the environment like it was daytime. Step by step, they moved, forming a circle around the duo, cutting off any chance of retreat, giving them no chance to escape.
