The moment seemed to stretch on as I watched Riley. Her presence was magnetic, pulling my focus despite the grandeur of the banquet around us. Just as I was lost in my thoughts, Ciara sidled up beside me, a knowing grin plastered across her face.
"Well, well, look who's smitten," she teased, her voice dripping with amusement.
I blinked, tearing my gaze away from Riley to glare at my sister. "What are you talking about?" I tried to sound indifferent, but my flushed cheeks betrayed me.
Ciara chuckled, crossing her arms. "Oh, come on, Seraphine. It's written all over your face. You've got a crush on that girl."
I huffed, crossing my arms in return. "I do not! I was just...admiring her dress."
Ciara raised an eyebrow, her grin widening. "Right. And I suppose you were just admiring how her eyes sparkle too, huh?"
"Ciara, stop it," I snapped, my embarrassment turning to irritation. "I don't have a crush on anyone."
