Reflexion

The first rays of dawn crept through the heavy curtains, casting a soft, golden light across the room. I blinked slowly, the remnants of sleep still clinging to my mind as I adjusted to the morning's quietude.

Beside me, Riley slept soundly, her breathing steady, her expression peaceful. The sight of her, so serene and content, filled me with a warm, protective affection. Yet, underneath that warmth, a tide of apprehension was beginning to rise.

The events of the previous night lingered in my mind, each memory vivid and intense. Our time together had been everything I needed a reminder of the strength of our bond, of the love we shared. But as the physical closeness faded, the realities of our situation loomed larger in my thoughts.
