I felt a rage building inside me, a fury I hadn't experienced since my darkest days in the family business. Someone, possibly my own daughter, had done this to my family, and I would make them pay.
Using every resource at my disposal, I finally tracked down Sophia. She was hiding in a small town just outside the city, thinking she was safe from my reach. How wrong she was.
I burst into her hideout, my men subduing her before she could even think of escaping. "You're coming with me," I growled, dragging her to the car.
At the hospital, I marched Sophia into Layla's room. The sight of Layla, pale and weak in the hospital bed, monitors beeping ominously around her, nearly broke my composure.
"Tell me what was in those bears," I demanded dangerously. "Now."
