Chapter 27 : The Confusing Complications

Rory’s POV

“What?” I felt stunned. I could hardly process what she had said. I felt like a little girl again and despite all her problems and issues, I didn’t want to lose my mom.

“I’m sorry, Rory, I thought about calling but I wasn’t sure you would listen to me. I just got diagnosed last week. I didn’t know where else to go.”

I moved aside from the door and gestured for her to come in.

“Are you sure?” she asked hesitantly.

I nodded. “Please, come on. I can’t leave you out there like that. But listen to me, you can not do drugs in my apartment. Okay?” I kept my eyes locked on her until she nodded. “I only have one bedroom here, but I have an air mattress I can blow up for the living room.”

“Thank you, sweetie. Anything is fine.”
