They entered the huge building, and Kei thought that if it wasn't for Alex, now he would be wandering endlessly like a soul in the Antinferno. The building had so many corridors that just by looking for the bathroom you would have found yourself in the music room with everybody staring at you angrily for having stopped the rehearsal (it happened to Alex. Not just once. He now had a new nickname: the pepper sleeping musician, because they say he had secret musician's instincts, obviously not true, and he made every musician in the school turn red at least once, not in a good way). There were rooms totally out of context, in metal. Kei found himself wondering again where the heck he ended up. There were passwords in some of them. And the institute was from centuries before. In the end they stopped in front of a classroom from which they could hear the noises of people talking. Then the two opened the door, because strangely enough their classmates might have been there before the bell rang. Or maybe Kei and Alex were too slow. I mean, although they didn't disturb any music lesson, they wrongly opened the door for an ambiguous meeting. Luckily there was a glass, one of those transparent from one side, but not from the other. Kei was looking at Alex as if saying 'Are you serious? Aren't you here since the start of high school?' to which Alex answered "I usually arrive 30 minutes before the bell" and shrugged his shoulders. That time when he was late 'because of Kei' was an exception, more or less. That meeting, though, was truly on another level, talking about how to 'innocently' extort money from their political enemies. Kei had a bad feeling about this, but Alex, knowing that that was one of the rooms where students weren't allowed to enter, couldn't help but try to eavesdrop. A chill ran through Kei's spine. They named his surname. But then a person from the meeting came closer to where the glass was and the two had to run at full speed. After they opened the door, the classroom was dead silent, though the teacher really was there, which earned Alex another lecturing gaze from Kei, who, when they were in that ambiguous space, except for the fact that his surname was mentioned, wanted to pull away Alex with his full strength, though unfortunately he wasn't all that strong. The teacher, a man in his thirties (surprisingly young), immediately said "Alex Bailey, today is your sixtyfift delay, you know that reached the hundredth delay you'll have to start coming the weekend""Sorry, professor, I guarantee that this wasn't intentional, though I find a bit unfair this rule". Kei wanted to put his hand on his head so badly, both for desperation and an urge to hide the fact they were together, but instead sent a piercing gaze to Alex, to make him understand the kind of unreasonable things he was saying. During the break, they'll talk about it again, with Alex saying it was Kei's fault for having told him to change his attitude, which was making Kei understand even more the students of the music course. Though nothing changes the fact that the teacher putted a note of demerit on the register, Mr. Collins (the teacher) even said that would it have been the world of Hasley Foster, he would have made him into a compass. About Kei, well, the teacher simply said "Don't worry, today is your first day. Don't follow this boy around the school and everything will be fine. You have to say your name right? Can you come here for the introduction?". Kei, then, said just the necessary things. While doing the introduction, he met the gaze of a girl: Shizuku Aikawa. But, differently from school, now tears were starting to come out from her eyes. Yes, she really was his best friend.
