Chapter 28

IMPORTANT AUTHOR'S NOTE AT END: READ IT!!

It was only after I'd defeated Lullaby and basked in my victory that I was finally able to forcibly suppress my Flugel instincts and desires, regaining my rationality.

The violet, fractured orb left behind was Lullaby's Soul. Personally, I had no use for it and offered it to Mira for her Take-Over Magic, which she gladly accepted. Though, she admitted that it was going to take some time for the soul to recover and be usable… But the subjugating part was very easy given the soul couldn't even fight back against her.

Erigor seemed to have regained consciousness during Lullaby's awakening and fled… I supposed that meant he'd be showing up in the Oracion Seis Arc and then get one-tapped by Nozomi. Regardless, he wasn't going to be my problem again, so I didn't put any more thought into him.

After taking Kageyama with us to Clover Town- once I'd repaired the damage I'd made in the canyon- we explained to the Master about the situation. I assured him that I'd return to Oshibana and repair any and all damages caused by our actions, causing him to nearly break down in relief.

It seemed Mavis had called him informing him about the fact that all of us were going on a mission together, and he'd nearly passed out with freight at the thought of the damage that Erza, Mira, Nozomi, and Gray could do together.

With the situation safely wrapped up, we returned to Magnolia- and Fairy Tail… Well, after a good night of sleep.

I let out a heavy sigh as I made my way into the guild, stumbling into my usual spot at the counter… While I wasn't injured, I was very emotionally and mentally drained due to the evolution of my Flugel Bloodline.

Luckily, after venting all my pent up emotions on Lullaby, it seemed the dark thoughts that came from my blood had calmed down… For the moment, at least.

I had no doubts that they would crop up again- and more frequently- in the future, especially as my bloodline evolved.

Still, I had noticed some benefits to the upgrade. My thinking abilities had increased a huge amount, able to process a ton of information in mere seconds. It was how I'd been able to analyse Lullaby so easily and dispel his curse as he was in the middle of casting it, and then even modify my magic on the fly to have Devil Slaying attributes so that he wouldn't just be revived in Tartaros.

I'd noticed my body had also become noticeably stronger; I'd almost ripped the door to my house off its hinges when we'd returned back to Magnolia due to the sudden increase in strength.

The biggest benefits, however, came from what I did during my moments of being consumed by my Flugel Blood…

Copy Magic (Amateur)

A Special Magic allowing for one to analyse others and copy their magic.

Spells

Analyse – A Spell allowing one to rapidly analyse magic circles and an enemy's Magic.

Copy – Allows one to copy an enemy's magic/magic circle, wielding their magic as your own. Magic copied is registered within the Skill List.

Dispel – A spell allowing one to dispel an enemies magic once it has been analysed and copied.

Enchant Magic (Amateur)

A magic allowing one to provide buffs to allies and debuffs to enemies during battle.

Spells

Enchant: Devil Slayer – A spell allowing one to enhance themselves or an ally with the Devil Slayer Attribute, making all attacks fatal to enemies with the Demonic Attribute.

Curse Magic {Initiate)

A magic adapted from the curses of demons.

Spells

Death Song – A sound based spell that brings death to any who hear it. The greater the magic and will, the more resistance one has to this spell.

As a result of my outburst, I'd ended up developing three new magics- two of them at Amateur Rank and one at Initiate… Enchanting with a specific slayer magic was already very advanced, so was analysing copying, and dispelling an enemy's magic.

Copy Magic, however, was one of the magics I had wanted most… With my enhanced processing speeds, integrating it within my God's eye to replicate the effects of the Sharingan were no longer just a pipe dream. I wasn't sure how well it would work on Lost Magic; however, it would certainly work with things like Ice-Make.

I had even- finally- pushed my Star Dragon Slaying Magic into the Expert Level with my own Secret Art: Bernard's Loop, named after the emission Nebula within the Constellation Orion.

Still, despite all of these benefits, I wasn't exactly happy with how I'd acted while consumed by my blood… And I was still feeling the aftereffects, I hadn't even realised Mavis was calling my name until she put a hand on my shoulder and my eyes focused on her.

"Uh, sorry, did you say something?" I asked her, shaking my head rapidly to help clear my thoughts.

"I asked how the mission went," she said, her voice filled with concern. "Are you alright? You seem very much out of it right now."

"That's probably because I am," I admitted with a sigh. "Yesterday was very emotionally and mentally draining for me…"

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked.

I just smiled at her. "It's not like it's a big secret… You remember how I used to be human before I awoke my bloodline, right?"

"Yes," Mavis nodded slowly.

I let out a sigh. "Well, as it turns out, that was only the initial awakening of my bloodline… It has more 'stages,' if you will. As my bloodline strengthens, so too do I get stronger. My mind is able to process information even faster, and I'm physically stronger too… But the downside is that my mind is trying to revert back to a Flugel's base instincts."

"Base instincts?"

"Arrogance," I told her. "Like I said, the Flugel were created by a War God known as Artosh… Their superior intelligence, near limitless magic power, their immortality… It results in extreme, overwhelming arrogance. They look down on all other races, seeing them as naught more than dirt beneath their boots."

Mavis's eyes widened. "So, you…?"

"My little act against Lullaby was sheer rage and indignation at being looked down on by a 'mere' demon completely overwhelming me… Well, I'm sure you'll hear from Mira and Erza just what such a thing did to me," I grimaced. "Even building up to that point, I'd started to have some dark thoughts about humans… I was able to snap myself out of it for the most part, but…"

"But Lullaby pushed your instincts to their limit," she said sympathetically. "Do you still have those instincts gnawing at you?"

I shook my head. "No, it seems letting out everything at once against Lullaby has quieted them down… But as my bloodline continues to refine and improve, those thoughts are going to keep cropping up. At some point, they may even overwhelm and change me into someone I'm not."

"Then all we have to do is bring you back," Mavis said simply with a smile.

I lifted my head to look into her eyes… There wasn't a trace of hesitation or doubt within them, she meant every word she'd said.

A smile crawled onto my lips… Despite everything, I couldn't deny that I felt much better now.

"Thanks, Mavis… Can I get some pasta?"

She smiled. "Coming right up~" She turned and got to work.

I slowly turned my gaze, watching the others in the guild…

Already, there were whispers as others looked at me in surprise and perhaps a little awe as word spread about my actions during the Eisenwald Incident…

I was aware that soon, word was going to spread through the papers about what happened. Even if I had undone the damage done in the canyon, 7 spots had refused to rewind and return to normal… The 7 spots the beams of light caused by Bernard's Loop had struck, forming the main body of the constellation Orion.

Word would spread throughout the world of how I defeated Lullaby, and how I'd even repaired all the damages caused by Fairy Tail during this incident.

I even heard some of the guild members whispering the name that Erza- of all people- had given me upon seeing the power I had wielded during this incident.

Oberon.

I let out a heavy sigh… That wasn't a name one could have placed on them lightly. To call me Oberon was essentially declaring that I was the strongest member of Fairy Tail. Even Gildarts was simply known as the 'Ace of Fairy Tail,' but nobody had ever named him 'King of the Fairies.'

It was going to take some getting used to.

"Oberon," Levy's voice mused as she took a seat beside me. "Now I wish I'd gone on the mission to see the spell you used; it must have been incredible… I heard Nozomi talking about it excitedly, she called it a Secret Art."

"Yeah, well… It surprised me too that I busted out something like that," I admitted… Compressing hundreds of Magic Circles down to just 7, and releasing such a devastating attack… It was the kind of power I hadn't thought I'd be able to wield. Being able to wield a Dragon Slayer Secret Art was a major step for a Dragon Slayer.

"I still don't think the name Oberon is one they should just be throwing around for me yet though," I sighed. "I only just got promoted to an A Class Mage after this incident and, while I may have a lot of magic power, I'm still very inexperienced compared to the others. I still think someone like Erza or Mira could beat me."

"You don't give yourself enough credit," she chuckled and then leaned in and whispered in my ear. "Or don't you want this Fairy to serve you, My King? ~"

I felt a shudder run down my spine and I cast my gaze away from Levy, who merely laughed in amusement.

Well… With this, the Eisenwald Arc had come to its conclusion… But my actions had definitely caused some changes.

Firstly, the Council had no excuse to arrest Erza to 'blame' her for anything, especially since I'd undone any damage caused… On top of that, I'd also handled Lullaby by myself, so the Council would definitely take notice of me now, though they probably had before simply because I was the only Fairy Tail Mage who didn't cause any collateral damage.

More importantly, Jellal- or whoever the hell replaced him if BB had done that- would start to pay attention to me and perhaps even see me as a 'replacement' for the Tower of Heaven in case he couldn't get his hands on Erza for whatever reason.

'In other words, I earned a World Roll. Right, BB?'

[Correct~] BB grinned as she manifested in front of me, her breasts jiggling in her bikini. [You stole one Nozomi's moments- given she's meant to be the one to destroy Lullaby- and you also ensured Mirajane obtained Lullaby's soul as a takeover… On top of that, you've also caused small shifts and started to attract attention. So, of course you have a world roll~]

'Well then… Roll for me.'

She grinned and called out a… Slot Machine?

[I like to change it up.] She told me as she slipped in a purple coin and then pulled down on the Lever, causing the three slots to spin rapidly… Before they stopped one by one and-!

[You have obtained Infinity Dragon Slayer Magic.]

I blinked in momentary confusion. 'What's Infinity-?' I began to question before information and memories filled my mind…

Infinity… It was the same Element as Ophis from DxD. A Void Dragon…

I didn't need anyone to tell me just how dangerous and powerful this magic was… But this magic also could provide an opportunity… After all, I doubted that Acnologia had ever devoured a Void Dragon before.

"Order up!" Mavis chirped, drawing my attention to her as she set the steaming plate of Pasta on the table. "Eat up while its hot."

"Oh, can I get a plate of that too?" Levy asked.

Mavis giggled and nodded. "I'll get on it," she grinned and turned to get to work.

I felt a smile crawl onto my lips…

Maybe the future was rather uncertain- with my Bloodline looming in the background, and the knowledge that I might end up drawing the attention of other Outer Gods if I carelessly called BB by her 'true' name in the future.

But, at the very least, I felt re-assured by the fact that I wasn't alone… I had Levy- my girlfriend- and Mavis, and all of Fairy Tail.

I grabbed a fork and began to dig into my meal.

'Well, Deliora… Looks like I'll be meeting you soon…'

.

.

.

Within the void between worlds, she floated…

For once, the loud, red one was far away enough that she finally had some silence and peace in her home.

However, she knew he would be back… And she was preparing herself to confront him, and make sure that he would leave and never come back.

As she floated in the void, however, she felt something.

She knew this feeling; she was familiar with it… Those who attempted to invade the world, the 'Outers.' It was the only thing she and the red one agreed on, that those beings were to not enter nor influence the world.

She prepared to lash out, before she paused as she felt something from this Outer… It wasn't like the others… There was possessiveness, and a feeling she wasn't familiar with among them… Desire? It was the closest thing she was capable of equating to it.

She flexed her hand, and a window appeared, allowing her to peek in…

And then, she saw him.

Sitting at a counter, talking with a girl with blue hair and another with blonde, with various others of all shapes and sizes within the area, was he sat, eating a meal.

Brown hair and matching eyes, with pupils in the shape of white stars… She could see through the illusion hiding him, giving way to a halo of azure flames, and wings that fluttered behind his back.

But what drew her in was the feeling, the aura she could feel deep within him…

Void. Empty. Dragon. Infinity.

Unbidden, she lifted a hand to her chest as she felt her heartrate- usually eternally calm- start to pick up…

He was the same as her.

She'd never seen someone the same as her… Void. Infinity. Dragon…

For the first time in her existence, a new feeling bloomed within her…

Obsession.

She wanted him.

She wanted this being, this Dragon, who was just like her.

Void.

Infinity.

Another half that she hadn't even realised that she had been missing until now…

A slow smile crawled up her face, and her black eyes began to shine with dark light… Ophis- the Ouroboros Dragon- said only a single word.

"Mine."
