unexpected change of plan

AARON POV

That morning, Margaret and I signed the contract in my room, our pens scratching in unison. With the formalities out of the way, we prepared to visit my parents at the hospital. I readied myself first, my nerves thrumming with anticipation. As I waited for Margaret downstairs, the silence was palpable, heavy with the weight of our newfound agreement.

The sound of heels clicking on the staircase announced her arrival, and I turned to behold her descent. Margaret's elegance was captivating - her long plaid skirt and blue poncho exuded sophistication, while her red heels added a touch of boldness. Her beauty left me momentarily speechless, but I dared not express my admiration, fearing it might be misinterpreted.

As she approached, I rose from the couch, my shirt rustling softly. "You're finally ready,I thought you collapsed in your room," I said, attempting to sound nonchalant.
