He came

MARGARET POV

I breathed a sigh of relief as I settled into Sophia's plush couch, grateful to have avoided the collision and shaken off the mysterious black car. Sophia raised an eyebrow as she handed me a glass of wine. "I'm surprised you're not off on a honeymoon somewhere," she said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"I'll get to that later," I replied, waving it off.

Sophia's expression turned concerned. "What's going on, Margaret? You sounded really worried on the phone. Is everything okay?"

I forced a smile, trying to reassure her. "I just wanted to surprise you, that's all."

Sophia looked unconvinced, but she didn't press the issue. Just then, my phone rang, and I excused myself to answer it. Beatrice's name flashed on the screen, and I felt a sense of trepidation as I picked up the call.

"Hey, where are you? We've been waiting," Beatrice asked, her voice tight with concern.
