AARON POV

As Margaret shook her head and stood up, heading for the door, a surge of desperation coursed through my veins. I swiftly closed the distance between us, grasping her arm and turning her to face me. My hand rested on her waist, holding her tightly against me.

"You're the one who decided to sleep in this room, Margaret. There's no going back," I said, my eyes locked on hers.

"I decide to sleep here, I decide when I don't want to sleep here," she replied, her gaze fixed on mine, her eyes flashing with determination.

I told myself to act calmly, but I overreacted when she mentioned reading the letter. The letter didn't even contain the secret. Curse Jessie Jack.

"I didn't think too much of the letter, I only wondered what it was that I'm supposed to know about. You want me to stay? Fine. Tell me, Aaron Liam, tell me what I'm supposed to know!" she demanded.

"Then let's make a deal," I said.

"I'm listening," she replied.
