we need to rush to the hospital

AARON POV

Moments after Margaret left, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I should explain the situation to her. But I couldn't do it now, it was too early.

From her reaction, it seemed she knew I wasn't around all night. Did she wake up before and go back to sleep? I thought about telling her some parts of the truth, but not everything.

Who does she think she is, anyway? I'm not accountable to her.

I got up from my bed and walked out of my room, heading towards hers. I wanted to knock, but I heard her talking to someone. I couldn't make out the words, but it sounded like she was on the phone.

I wondered who she could be talking to at this hour. Beatrice, probably. Those two were always whispering to each other, sharing secrets. I waited in front of her door, my mind racing with thoughts.

What was I thinking? Why was I even considering explaining myself to her? I didn't owe her an explanation.
