Chapter 71: Taking Them All Down

From the moment William fired his first shot to taking down Clark in the restaurant, less than three minutes had passed. He approached the two mercenaries who had been knocked down by the grenade and finished them off with two shots to the head.

Scanning the restaurant, he noticed a surveillance camera. With a quick raise of his hand, he shot it out. Then, cautiously, he moved to the window and glanced outside to the street below.

The thugs on the street had recovered and were advancing towards the hotel in small groups, covering each other. William pulled out a pair of binoculars from his storage space and scanned the area around the street opposite the hotel. Within moments, he spotted Lucifer standing behind an SUV.

"Got you, you bastard."

Lucifer was anxiously watching the balcony of the hotel restaurant. He couldn't believe how fierce William Devonshire was. This young man, who made a fortune selling games, had taken on dozens of AK-wielding thugs without hesitation, turning his M4A1 into a weapon of mass destruction.

In a blink, over a dozen mercenaries had been taken down. These were battle-hardened men who had fought in the Albanian civil war, hired at a cost of two million dollars.

Watching his men being slaughtered by William, Lucifer couldn't contain his fury any longer. He jumped up and down by the car, cursing loudly.

William, still holding the binoculars, took a few more looks at Lucifer, who was frantically hopping around. He then used his psychic powers to scan the hotel exterior.

The remaining mercenaries were almost inside the hotel. Without further hesitation, William pulled out an AWP sniper rifle from his storage space and quickly assembled it. It took him about twenty seconds to attach the magazine, suppressor, and scope.

With a click, a bullet was chambered. William placed a chair on a table, rested the AWP on it, removed the scope's cover, and peered through it. He aimed the rifle at Lucifer, who was about 200 meters away.

Taking a deep breath, William focused on Lucifer, who was flanked by two bodyguards. He planned how to eliminate Lucifer and his guards as quickly as possible.

Once ready, he positioned the crosshairs of the scope over Lucifer's head and gently squeezed the trigger.

With a "whoosh," the shot was fired. Instantly, he pulled the bolt to chamber another round. Without waiting to see the result of the first shot, he aimed at the bodyguard partially hidden by the SUV and fired.

"Bang," the guard dropped dead, following Lucifer into the afterlife. The last bodyguard, realizing what had happened, tried to dash into a nearby building. But it was too late. William had already chambered another round and fired at the fleeing guard.

The bullet hit the mercenary in the back, sending him flying a meter forward before collapsing to the ground. William watched through the scope, knowing the man was done for. A bullet from an AWP to the back at 200 meters would leave a gaping wound in his chest, lethal within minutes if not seconds.

William packed the AWP and the spent casings back into his storage space, then grabbed his M4A1, reloading it and attaching a suppressor. He also reloaded his Glock 17 and attached a suppressor, placing three spare magazines on his left waist for quick access.

Just as he finished preparing, he heard the sound of AK-47 fire from downstairs. The thugs had entered the hotel and were exchanging fire with the security personnel. William strolled over to the bar, found an intact bottle of whiskey, and took a satisfying drink. He was waiting for the thugs outside to enter the hotel. He had no intention of going downstairs to face a dozen AK-47s head-on; that would be suicide.

Using his psychic powers, William continuously scanned the lobby and the situation outside the hotel. When the last group of thugs reached the hotel entrance, he finished his drink and set the glass down.

William grabbed his M4A1 and dashed to the balcony. With a quick leap, he jumped from the second-floor balcony.

In mid-air, he opened fire on the three thugs at the hotel entrance.

"Thud-thud-thud, thud-thud-thud, thud-thud-thud."

Before they could even see William, they were gunned down by three precise bursts, each collapsing with blood mist erupting from their chests.

After taking out the trio, William quickly hid by the entrance, peeking inside. He raised his rifle and fired two bursts at two thugs about four or five meters from the door, each burst dropping a thug with a spray of blood from their backs.

In less than ten seconds, he had eliminated five thugs. There were still nine left inside. William ducked back behind the entrance, using his psychic powers to scan the lobby again.

The hotel security was pinned down in a corner, with one member injured.

William noted with relief that the lobby was now clear of civilians. This meant he could fight without worrying about collateral damage.

He swapped out his M4A1's magazine and crept along the wall into the lobby. As he entered, a security guard spotted him, mistaking him for one of the thugs. He raised his weapon, but William, anticipating this, quickly ducked behind a pillar. After a brief pause, William peeked out and signaled to the guard that he was an ally and there to support them from behind.

The guard hesitated, then noticed William's suit and tie, along with the fact that he was wielding an M4A1 rather than an AK-47. He nodded, reassured, and redirected his aim towards the thugs.

Seeing the guard believed him, William stealthily moved from behind the pillar and fired three quick bursts at three thugs with their backs turned to him.

"Thud-thud-thud, thud-thud-thud, thud-thud-thud."

Three more thugs went down. By now, William had fully entered the lobby. Despite the suppressor, his M4A1 still made a distinct sound. The remaining six thugs, startled by the suppressed gunfire, realized they were under attack from behind.

These seasoned fighters, having survived numerous wars, immediately recognized the sound of an M4. They assumed it was a special forces unit from Montenegro.

The leader quickly took cover and radioed for backup, "Support, support, we need support! We're surrounded! Get here now!"

Within seconds, William heard a response from a nearby thug's radio, "Understood, we're on our way."

"Damn it," William cursed silently, realizing they intended to flank him.
