Chapter One: The Serial Killer Contract

Chapter One: The Serial Killer Contract

What happened on October 8th, 2013?

At night, I was trapped in a car, left with nothing to do but constantly pinch my folded arms in fear. It had been almost ten hours since we got here to this strange house and my father hadn't returned. If I went inside, I may be doomed because my father wouldn't care thrashing me in public.

But I'm scared of being abandoned in this strange beautiful mansion.

Adam spun the corpse on a chair with a rope in his mouth. A smile crawled on Adam's face as he did this. Who would've known? Is this possible? I found out who my father was at age sixteen and regretted being curious.

They say, curiosity kills the cat. It's true.

My father had been obsessed with getting back with my mother. I was only eight when they separated and up till date I still saw how he was bent on reuniting with my mother.

We were currently in a car heading to meet a Mr. Elijah, who my father wouldn't say anything about. I turned my head to the side to see the window view of other cars passing.

"Hello, Mr. Elijah, your package is ready," My father spoke over the phone.

My mother, Annalise Frederick, was the daughter of the richest boss in the whole country. I wondered how he managed to get her then make the dumb mistake of setting her loose.

According to the story my father had drunkenly told me, it was 31st night, where people with families enjoyed their time together whilst those 'parentless' children Lincoln loved to call "lone wolves', froze in the winter starving severely.

My father said Annalise had ran from home and was sad. He just so happened to sit beside her that day on the bench.

"Hello, pretty lady," he said. He saw how beautiful her brown hair was packed. Her fine long coat which would cost a fortune. Long story short, sad princess fell in love with my father that moment, they went to a hotel and crashed.

The real tragedy starts, I'm actually adopted. My father and mother adopted me and ever since mother left, I'd felt more like a slave house girl rather than a daughter. I was glad my mother left this shitty man. Also, I was not glad because I was suffering in hell.

My mother's departure did a toll on his mental health, and now we're what I'd like to describe as semi broken family. My father wasn't okay. Slowly becoming what no one could fully describe. He was becoming a mad man.

Why didn't my mother take me? Maybe cause I wasn't her biological daughter.

We made a stop in front of the largest mansion ever built. This was no ordinary place, it was a castle. The gates opened on their own and I was wondering what my father was doing in a place like this.

A tall man in shades approached us as we were still in the vehicle.

"Tell him it's Dr. Adam." My father informed and for a reason I felt tensed.

The man in shades soon came back to I form my father, "Boss said you should come in."

"Boss?" I would've actually asked my father more questions but to him, I was more of a burden ever since his wife left him.

"Stay here," My father instructed coming out of the car. "And don't do anything shitty." His face stuck through the window as he made a serious creepy face I thought was meant to threaten me.

I leaned my head on the window. My father had carried a box of which I didn't know the content. Have you ever been left to wait for someone before with the mindset they would be back in a flash and they oppose that? This was it. The wait killed be slowly. What was Adam doing in there?

It seemed like a joke but hours passed. Still trying to be patient, my eyes suddenly traced to the top of the building and I saw man with ling legs in black. He rested on the railings like he was tired or waiting for someone then soon, he caught me staring at him from that distance. His black hair was a bit long but not too much.

I know, I was supposed to move my eyes away but our gaze glued. He then smiled at me a small side smile. I instantly looked away.

My heart thudded because asides from him being attractive, that was creepy. Judging by the watch on his wrist and style of fashion and this obvious classy territory, he was very wealthy.

Bang!

I heard a gun sound deviating me from my thoughts. The day wore a dark cloth and the person that had brought me here was still in that strange house — I call it.

What should I do? I have a thing when I get really scared at night. Some times I yell, bite my lips till it goes numb. It gave the nuns concern when I was back in the orphanage. Now that I'm bigger, it's gotten better only because I have suppressed it.

My heart rose and I had two thoughts flash through my head. Drive this car and leave my father, or walk in to find out what was going on; which I thought was a bad idea.

I gulped, taking the dumb idea. I had no other person to take care of me. The mansion had a pool, a smaller house next to it, I was heading towards where I had seen Adam steer to.

His threatening voice echoed in my head, "Don't do anything shitty," yet I proceeded.

On my way into the intimidating tall building, I accidentally bumped into someone.

"Hello, there," his face looked grumpy before, but when he faced me he switched his demeanour. My heart flipped in fear.

Men suddenly surrounded me and when I looked back to the terror, I got shock of my life. My father, Mr. I saw my father, Mr. Adam, standing next to a dead man who had a rope on his mouth. My father displayed a wide grin but that changed when he saw me.

"Emerald! What are you doing here!?" He hollered. Surprise flushed his face and he tried coming closer to explain whilst I recoiled my steps. "Emerald, he was already dead before I got here. I only have to cut out his organs. It's my first time. I swear, I didn't kill the man."

Panting, my eyes traced to the person's neck only to see a bullet hole.

Traumatized.
