011 Competition

Gu Xiaoxi stood at the bustling crossroads, her gaze sweeping the surroundings before she quickly turned and chased down a quaint alleyway. Sure enough, ten minutes later, she successfully intercepted Song Jingyi at a deserted alley entrance.

*

Ten minutes later, Gu Xiaoxi emerged from the alley.

Her back was straight, her eyes shimmering with moisture like the stars in the summer sky—deep, cold, dark, yet concealing a brilliance of ten thousand rays.

Gu Xiaoxi, empty-handed, returned to her Overbearing Iron 999.

She plopped down into the driver's seat, squinted her eyes, and recalled the moment, ten minutes earlier, when she had intercepted Song Jingyi.

To dare to steal from her was something she couldn't let slide. Though Song Jingyi was also not bad in combat, she still ended up getting beaten until she was searching for her teeth on the ground.

But what then, after the beating?

When the matron of the orphanage, along with a group of disabled children, rushed to her, clinging to her legs, they explained the truth, begging her to let Song Jingyi go, pleading with her not to take the money back.

It turned out that in the corners of the streets lived children abandoned by their parents, disabled and without money for medical treatment, without decent food, or even a proper piece of clothing—living itself was a pain for them.

Yet those children still lived with resilience, like seedlings sprouting from the crevices of rocks, enduring countless trampling, never bowing their heads.

And Song Jingyi, a thief, a liar, took on the burden of supporting the lives of over a dozen disabled children with her own life.

She would rather be beaten to death than give up the money she had acquired.

At eighteen, Gu Xiaoxi recalled that part of her memory which had been sealed away for fifteen years.

She was abandoned by her father on the streets during a winter's day, the biting cold wind slicing through her as she huddled in an abandoned box at the street corner.

She hated the darkness, feared the Evil Ghosts of legend, and was even more scared of the lonely, cold winter nights.

She prayed for God to send someone to rescue her.

And she was lucky.

A beautiful woman appeared, reached out to her, and took her home, providing her with a warm bed and tender love.

She thought, had she not been saved, would she have also frozen to death on the streets, living in hunger?

The Iron 999 raced through the streets, kicking up dust, and before Xia Xingze on the outskirts of Panshan Road, Gu Xiaoxi's car stopped overbearingly.

"I accept the race, but I want to raise the stakes," Gu Xiaoxi lifted her head, her delicate face showing nothing but seriousness, yet as always, it was tinged with arrogance.

"Whatever you want. I have money!" Xia Xingze raised his hand excitedly, a look of generosity on his face. As long as Gu Xiaoxi was willing to race him, he didn't care about the money.

"Ten million! If you lose, I want ten million!" Gu Xiaoxi declared.

Xia Xingze hesitated upon hearing this, ten million was not a small figure, he could afford it, but it wasn't something to be squandered carelessly.

"If you don't agree, there's no point to our race. Excuse me, I won't accompany you," Gu Xiaoxi said, about to start her car and leave.

Xia Xingze hurriedly blocked the front of her car and said, "I agree! What's your stake?"

Gu Xiaoxi only gave a few absent-minded words. "I don't need a stake. Because, I will definitely win!"

"..." Xia Xingze was stunned; indeed, that was quite bold.

The racing scene was crowded, many car racing enthusiasts had heard the news and rushed over. Everyone wanted to witness the pinnacle showdown between two masters who had conquered the CN155 track.

Gu Xiaoxi unexpectedly saw Yeh Bai inside, whom she had met just a few days ago.

From afar, Yeh Bai waved to Gu Xiaoxi, his peach-blossom eyes brimming with tenderness, "Good luck!"

Gu Xiaoxi chuckled lightly, turned her head nonchalantly, and drove towards the starting point of the race track.

Panshan Road was not an easy route; the most difficult parts were the forty-five-degree corners, three water crossings, and a narrow four-meter-wide path winding along the cliff's edge.

Any one of these challenges could lead to a fatal crash with one careless move.

But Gu Xiaoxi didn't even furrow her brow.

With the whistle's blast, the Iron 999 roared and sped off, quickly taking the lead and racing down the mountain.

Xia Xingze was not to be outdone; his speed increased and at the second bend, he even managed to overtake Gu Xiaoxi.

"Not bad technique, worthy of being an opponent," Gu Xiaoxi pressed on the accelerator, approaching the first challenge, the forty-five-degree corner.

Her car miraculously stood on its end, spun a beautiful black bear roll, and flew past the corner.

The speed and skill left the onlookers dumbfounded, screaming in excitement.

Xia Xingze's car was not to be outshown; it suddenly transformed into a spherical shape, rolled out from the forty-five-degree corner, and successfully passed the challenging bend as well.

Both cars coolly displayed eye-opening stunts.

Gu Xiaoxi finally took this challenger, Xia Xingze, who appeared at her doorstep out of nowhere, seriously.

The shape of his car was clearly defined, the lines elegant, not different from an ordinary luxury car at first glance.

Only upon closer inspection could one see that it was made from special metal, not belonging to any well-known luxury car models, yet capable of shape-shifting.

From an ordinary car changing into a sphere to navigate the forty-five-degree corner and then returning to its original form. And Xia Xingze handled his driving skills with utmost finesse.

And Xia Xingze also witnessed the extent of Gu Xiaoxi's driving skills—a truly admirable technique. Being able to stand a car on a single wheel and then so accurately calculate the trajectory of the car, she was definitely not to be underestimated, a good opponent indeed.

A narrow cliffside road.

Gu Xiaoxi's car was the first to rush over, on the winding road that was only as wide as a car. If one misjudged even slightly, they would plunge down the cliff with the car, dying without a place for burial.

Gu Xiaoxi drove steadily, with Xia Xingze closely pursuing, his technique not a hair's breadth inferior to hers.

Then, the two cars passed the narrow cliff road and faced the three segments of gravel water roads in the mountain valley.

The most dangerous was the third waterway; passing it meant victory, but failing to cross would lead to the car being swept away by the rushing streams in the valley, falling down a bottomless waterfall.
